I would say we took about 100 to Dagenham, not helped by the apalling traffic everywhere which meant some people didn't turn up until nearly half-time.

 

We only just made it for a swift half. Managed to sneak past the jobsworth without paying 50p (ha!).

 

Goal 1: Magnus tried to shepherd the ball out by the corner flag only to lose it. Bazza made two great saves but could do nothing about the third.

 

Goal 2: Flynn played the ball across the penalty area to Davis who was dispossessed and Mackail-Smith lashed it in from 20 yards.

 

Goal 3: 3rd minute of injury time, from a corner the ball fell loose to Rainford who stuck a sweet half-volley firmly past Bazza from about 18 yards.

 

By now Flynn and Okounghae were off, not all bad news as they were being skinned alive down the right flank. Simpson and 'Crackers' the replacements.

 

Goal 4: City pressed forward in the second half and from out of nowhere, Damien "Batty" Batt struck a sweet low left-foot shot from 20 yards just inside Roberts' left-hand post. 3-1.

 

Goal 5: More pressure and from a free-kick on the right, Duane "Jacko" Jackman (did I mention he had replaced Simon Martin?) sent a superb header against the juntion of bar and post which Roberts could only flap into the path of Haks who had an easy finish from a few yards out. 3-2.

 

A third looked a distinct possibility now, but they broke away, and from a free-kick, Mackail-Smith was able to rise unchallenged and glance a header into the bottom corner of the net. 4-2. Game over. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bawling.gif" alt="" />

 

The last minutes we were treated to some unfunny antics from Roberts which got the treatment it deserved. What a nob!
