Do we know why the above game was postponed, were Colney Heath involved in an RTA on the way to Welwyn Garden City.

Those of us that have read this thread thoroughly from the start are fully aware why this game was postponed.

Considering that a Wingate & Finchley player lost his life in an RTA last month and another is still in hospital, your flippant reference to an RTA as an excuse for postponed matches (particularly when the actual reason for the postponement has already been given) are rather ill-advised; some might say sick.

yeah we should have won easy, emile missed an open goal in the 5th minute then wardy got injured. the best chance they had was maskell header from outside the box, it was typical bury performance just worked hard and battled.

I couldn't spot anything but apologies if this is the case, I tend not to go through threads with a fine tooth come as you and Lato do in order to purposely try and trip people up.

Rhodes, this is the first post on this very thread. It is the very point of HTFCew starting this thread. How much clearer does it need to be? No "fine tooth come" (sic) needed. Where, exactly, have I attempted to "trip you up" here?

Potters Bar Town - I'm afraid I didn't read the first post on this thread, I got the results last night from the League bulletin that came through by e-mail about 11.00 last nuight and it didn't give a reason for the postponement.

Rhodes once again you show yourself up.

Bad result for Manor, I didn't go but I know Swaysland was missing and they took the lead from a retaken penalty after our keeper saved the first but the assistant orderd a retake. They added a second and we then missed a penalty.

And before you ask I don't know if Lambourne was playing, I think he may have been but he didn't make a lot of difference at COlney Heath did he?

Lato - No not at all, you don't expect games to be called off through a waterlogged pitch at this time of the season, well unless it's Coles Park that is. Also Colney Heath was Lambourne's first game for Manor, the ink wasn't even dry on his registration form so it's hardly surprising he made little impact.

we should have beat st mags tuesday night! we had the majority of possesion and 4 or 5 clear cut chances! they just got 11 behind the ball and were over the moon with a point!! we were solid at the bk and bossed the midfield but our forwards had an off day which will have to be fixed for saturday!!

Rhodes once again you show your lack of knowledge of football matters. It can actually be quite common to get waterlogged pitches this time of year. Especially if we've had a long hot summer, which has baked the ground. This in turn makes it difficult for surface water to disipate quickly following a short sharp downpoor, or even a long day of light to medium rainfull, such as we had earlier this week. A good groundsman might be able to deal with the situation given enough time, but not many clubs have the knowledge on tap (sorry) to deal with waterlogging quickly or effectively.
