Would be interested to know which players during say the last 20 years(since 1983 ) were Slough born, and which secondary-age schools they went to.

I believe Lloyd Owusu went to Burnham Grammar but I'm not sure...

Lloydy went to St. Joesphs, certainly not Burnham Grammar.

 

David Connolly (Now of Wimbledon fame) was the one at Burnham Grammar.

I think some (or all) of the following were local players. Most of them were St Joseph's or Woodside pupils.

 

Chalkie White - ?

Rowan Dodds - Woodside

Eddie Hutchinson - Woodside ?

Devon Petty - ?

Micky Cumber - Langley Grammar School

Joe Maloney - St Josephs

 

And then there was the England Under 15 captain who came back to us as football in the Community in the early '90's. He came from St. Jo's

 

Am I going back further than '83 ? Maybe !! Sorry !

CJ went to Holy Family school in Langley before going to St. Joseph's.

Michael Murphy who played a few games a few years ago went to Langley Grammar as did current player Adrian Browne.

The U15's captain was Walker and he went to Ragstone Road, Alan Wilks went to Haymill, Ian Gould went to Westgate, Terry Male went to Woodside, dudley Gardner went to Langley, and David Beckham went to Langley Marish

I think Tony Dennis who the club sold to Cambridge United in 1990 for a record 20k went to school locally.

Further to a previous discussion on brothers playing for the Rebels - Graeme (defender) and Gary McVie (forward) joined the club in the mid-nineties both having played in the Scottish League. After short spells elsewhere including Hendon, Gary Mcvie rejoined under Paul Hardyman.
