Hertford Town v Biggleswade Town

Recommended Posts

I think this game is going to be a very close 1, some of the score predictions dont reflect this.

This is the report from Biggleswade win last Saturday.

Saturday 7 October 2006

Langford 1 Biggleswade Town 3

The Waders picked up their first league win of the season at local rivals Langford.

With Ryan Jenner, Keith Newby and James Molloy returning to the line up after long absences the Waders looked a much better side and were lively from the start putting Langford under early pressure. Langford had their chances too when they got going and they should perhaps have taken the lead but Biggleswade keeper Lee Robinson dealt comfortable with anything that was on target.

The Waders took the lead after 30 minutes when Ryan Jenner struck a fine shot at an angle across the keeper from the edge of the penalty area and they doubled the lead seven minutes later through Cameron Clark who skillfully finished off a fine move which included a great cross from Molloy.

Just five minutes into the second half though Biggleswade were reduced to ten men when Jenner was cautioned for a second offence and this should have given Langford the initiative but it was not to be as Biggleswade continued to contain them well with Molloy not allowing Langford's defence to relax.

Biggleswade even went three ahead after 85 minutes when Clark scored his second of the match and Langford had to be satisfied with a consolation goal from Groves in injury time.

Biggleswade made it a very tough physical game for Hertford, there will be plenty more of them games to come now as everyteam wants to stop Hertford Town.

Just thought some of Biggleswade tackles were not seen by the officials, hope Lee Robers is ok, Ryan Redford was inches away from a very serious injury, get some padding on that wall please, the supporters keep losing the beers.

..you mean soft drinks, don't you, Manic?

Seriously it was a terrible tackle, as was the tackle on Lee Roberts, which the ref. didn't see. Nor did he see one on Pablo etc.

Don't get too excited about the numbers attending - reckon about 25-30 from Hertford.

Agreed. I think the "rivalry" bit is over hyped IMHO. Most of your players and ours are good friend and We know that we will never compete with Hertford as we do not have the financial clout. As a member of the Hertford squad text me yesterday win, lose or draw we will still have a beer after!!
