Stafford Match

Recommended Posts

I cannot give you a definitive answer, but looking up at the lighting on Saturday, there were "signs of life" there, so fingers crossed ! But let me say this.......we all know it's not Old Trafford ( thank god !) or St James' Park....but do not the floodlights provide ample lighting ( after all there is no additional lighting on the Swanscombe End Terrace )? I know that this will not satisfy the local Health & Safety PC persons but, I suppose, that's life these days Esther !

Cheers,

oh dear oh dear

But all is not lost completely -

Grays lost to Tamworth

Burton lost to Forest Green

York lost to Cambridge

Which is a lot worse

and it shouldn't affect our table position too much.. shame about the goal difference though <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

But I just got off the phone to my dad and in his exact words "we were absolute RUBBISH"

We were awful tonight. Players constantly out of position and looking completely lost. The lack of midfield strength cannot be solved by playing the long ball unless they aim at someone. And as for our throw ins tonight, we might as well have just handed Stafford the ball.

Sodje had a poor game again, not paying attention but then no one played particularly well. It's no good booting the ball at the keeper unless there's someone up there to challenge him.

Charlie was credited with our goal but from where I was it looked like Sasha's free kick went straight in. Did anyone else have a better look?

For once I'm glad the attendancec was pi*s poor.

Defence in particular played like complete strangers - mind you, Cronin was somewhat unlucky with their 1st 2 goals - how frustrating it must have been seeing the ball bounce back in off McArthy for the 1st after a good stop & again to see a forward get there 1st for the second after another decent stop. And he also saved us from a 5-1 defeat late on in a one on one.

We had sufficient chances - McDonald shot over bar and shot at keeper in 1st half, McCarthy header inches wide and Anderson curler just wide (excellent effort), as well as another couple of decent stops from the keeper, with a little luck of the run of the ball on another couple of occasions.

Lets hope it was just one of those nights tonight. Incidentally, I agree with Hannah - Sasha's corner had, I am sure, already crossed the line before Charlie made sure - a rather bizarre goal as well as the corner never got above waste high yet somehow still went in, right in the centre of the goal - where the keeper went, I dont know!
