I beleive that our photographer has a couple of spare seats and is leaving from the stadium at 5 30.

Something to do with the local residents not liking the floodlights on after a certain time so matches at Heybridge have to be a 7.30 kick off.

Up until about 15 years ago, almost everyone kicked off at 7:30pm (and Wednesday was more common than Tuesday in most cases, too). Then suddenly the 7:45pm kick-off became more and more frequent until it eventually became the norm. I reckon 8pm kick offs will be equally commonplace within the next 10 years and more and more of them are creeping into the game.

 

I don't see why 15 minutes difference would stop people going to a game, though.

Anyway, 15 minutes can make a lot of differance so i think 8pm kick offs would be better.

 

I remember trying to get to Chalfont St Peter last year by train......... not an easy trip !!!!!

I would have missed a 7.30 KO.

Very true Trigs, 8pm's would be so much better, but then what if a midweek cup game started at 8 and went to pens? We'd be talking nearly 11pm so no after match beer then?

Heybridge can't be much easier, the closest station is a good few miles away. I can't even remember there being a road sign pointing to the ground the last couple of times I passed. There is a place that sells cider just up the road though, always a good thing.

Heybridge doesnt have a train station, neither does Maldon...

 

They have to kick-off @ 7.30pm every evening game, cause of the local residents and the floodlights... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
