HTFCew - I assume you saw the article in the East Herts Herald last month, just incase the link doesn't work I have also cut and pasted the text. I thought Hertford Town are Ware were arch enemies so I would have thought that even if he was Abramovich you would have told him where to go:

FORMER Ware vice-chairman Mick Clark has been elected as chairman of Hertford Town FC.

Clark has taken up the top job at the Glenridge Stadium after leaving the club's local rivals at the end of last season.

Hertford's new chairman set Dave Greenwood's side a target of winning the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division in the forthcoming campaign after finishing third last term.

The businessman, who lives in Hertford, also rebuffed any idea that his decision to move between the two local rivals would spark controversy.

He is set to continue last season's sponsorship of Ryman League Division One North side Ware through company MC Property Services.

Clark wants his new club to climb the non-league ladder and drew comparisons with Nationwide Conference side and FA Trophy winners Stevenage Borough.

He also hinted that new players could be brought in, but denied there would be wholesale changes, giving boss Greenwood his backing.

Clark said: "I want to win the league this season. I'd like to be a club like Stevenage really.

"I'm quite ambitious, it'll take a lot of hard work from everyone, but we can do it.

"I'm happy with what we've got at the club, but you can always add quality players.

"I can't name names at this stage, but you can always improve a team.

"With a little bit more effort from everyone and a little bit more unity as a football club we can definitely win the league."

Clark emphasised that there was no bad blood with Ware for leaving Wodson Park and taking the chairman's job at Hertford.

He also refuted any idea that his continued sponsorship of Ware would cause a conflict of interest with his new role.

He said: "There's no ill feeling. I enjoyed my time at Ware, but I've always been ambitious to be chairman of a football club.

"I'm not sponsoring the club personally, that's through the company. We will sponsor the club next season because that is what we committed to do. There's no conflict of interest.

"It was time to move on so I can really take control somewhere. I don't want to comment too much about local rivalry, I want to focus on the future."

One of Clark's priorities at Hertford is to improve the facilities at the Glenridge Stadium.

He said: "We want to make improvements to the stadium and the changing rooms. I want to make it a family club, by getting more people through the gate, improving facilities and having a successful team.

"We need money to make improvements, but I'm always talking to more sponsors and there has been some interest, so the future is looking bright."

Clark also wants to encourage increased links between all of Hertford's teams.

He said: "We need to get the youth team and reserves working as one unit, so we're working as one club.

"The best way to improve the team is not by buying players, but by bringing young players through the ranks.

That wouldn't have been very nice of us considering he's been our shirt sponsor for the last two seasons.

So how come he was Vice Chairman at Ware yet sponsoring your shirts, it doesn't make any sense.

Oh dam, I'm not sure we were flicking through the photos together quite fast, are you sure you don't mind? she/we will be posting a lot more videos throughout the season and I have got a feeling it's going to be a very special 1.

Thanks.

My question above doesn't seem to have received a response from one of the Hertford Town faithful, I'm sure there's a straight forward explanation.

Socrates - How the devil are you, sometimes I wonder whether you are the man himself who I can still see walking through the Italian defence in that legendary 1982 quarter final.
