Your pics. made it into 1 of the free papers but why could the Mercury not even have 1 of the goals on the sports pages, a result like that should of had a lot more coverage, ok the back page was all Hertford but expected a couple of pics. at least, your thought`s are eagerly awaited.

Can't complain as we did take over the whole back page of the Mercury. The Mercury only tend to use photos taken by their own photographers, although they did have my pic of Dave Greenwood in last week.

The Herald is run by the same people who do the Welwyn Hatfield Times (and used to do the Hertford Times). I had an email from them last weekend to say they were starting coverage of our games again. They take the report and pics from our website - easy column inches for them and good (when we're winning!) publicity for us. It's nice that they're putting colour pics in the midweek freebie this time.

HTFCew - You may have noticed a photographer at Haringey last Saturday and his pics are all over the Tottenham Journal like a rash with a match report which I will try to find a link for on the paper's Website to post on the 'Haringey 0 Hertford a lot' thread. Some of you guys are in one of the pics standing behind the goal opposite the car park end, if you like I'll put a paper in the post to you tomorrow.

Better not, I must get some sleep if I'm going to be up to watch the Grand Prix at 6am tomorrow!
HTFCew - You will have to get together with Paula over a pint or six, she is a mad Grand Prix fan, who's your favourite driver or does that go without saying.

Paula and I disagree on drivers, as I am not a Ferrari fan, so am very pleased to have just seen Alonso win the race today. Over the years I have liked Hunt, Warwick and Hill. I tend to support the Brits.

Don't know where Manic got to. Although our turnout disappointed you, I can name 20 Hertford supporters out of the pitiful crowd of 77. What do you have to do to attract people to your games?

I agrree Horace as I already said the crowd was POOR <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I was expecting at least 100+ to turn up. Edgware have had at least 20ish at our away games this season, so your support was not anything special, in fact Leverstock seemed to have more fans then Hertford for the midweek game last week in the cup, where the crowd was 88, not as reported 48.

What do the club have to do to attact more fans? I would say 99% of people in Edgware dont realize there is even a football club let alone a decent one who are top of the table.

We seem to be getting back some of the older fans who's support has lasped over the years, I am one of them, having returned to watching Edgware in the past couple of years.

It's very hard to get support, as we are on the doorstep of other non league clubs such as Harrow Boro/Wstone/Hendon even Kingsbury and Wembley. Then there is Barnet, arsenal and the many other pro clubs in London.

At least Hertford is far enough from London for you to attact some local support who dont want to travel into the captial to see a pro side. You however have a number of other clubs in Herts' that you fight with for support.

As I have posted before Edgware have had ave crowds of 3000+ in the 40's and the record crowd is 8500, but those days and that world is long gone. I had a nice chat with one of our older supporters and he if you were not at the ground by 2pm you would not get in!!!!! he thinks he was dreaming when he thinks back to those days!!!

Even when I started going back in the late 70's as a kid, I remember the crowds were a good 300+ for each game in the old Athenain league

Likewise, old Hertford supporters can remember crowds regularly over the 1,000 mark.

I update the Mitoo site (well, HTFCew mostly) Do you want the attendance for the Leverstock game amended?
