Really, and you're from the Bill Shankly era.

Derbyshire? Bill Shankly managed Liverpool (and Preston) - Derby is nowhere near Liverpool!

However, point is, football to me isn't more important than real friendships (would be getting regular text updates though!)

Well you have to respect the fact that to some people football isn't just a matter of life or death, it really is far more important than that. It's also like the 'better than sex' saying when you score a goal, people mock that too but it's probably true for most players even at our level.

Shooting is actually quite a good word to use although I gather it wasn't Paula who was doing it. I have just noticed your profile has the great Kevin Hector and Roy McFarland, have they always been there as Roy is one of my all time favourites. What's your connection with John Chiedozie as he is one of Clement Temile's best friends, did you actually meet Clement when he was with you for the legendary friendly.

Didn't meet Clement, or you actually! I was a regular at the Baseball Ground during the Brian Clough era when Roy McFarland was the best footballing centre half in the country (until he did his Achilles playing for England). He learned his trade playing alongside the great Dave Mackay.

Then I had a spell watching Notts County, as I was living and working in Nottingham. John Chiedozie was their record signing when they joined the top flight in 1983. He was brilliant until injured by diabolical "agricultural" tackle by Terry Butcher

I'm sure we met at the legendary friendly unless I'm thinking of someone else, you seemed a bit of a ladies man hence your apparent interest in the lovely Paula. Yes I remember that Derby team as if it were yesterday and also when Charlie George joined them from Arsenal in 73/74 I think it was although I could never get used to seeing him in a white Derby shirt. HTFCew posted a picture of John Chiedozie on here a couple of weeks ago, I used to watch him at Orient before he went to Meadow Lane.

I thought Horace was the fairly tall imposing looking chap, in his 50's with a smart haircut, who was that then. I remember your Chairman now as I had a nice chat with him, he very kindly said that if we were ever stuck and needed a ground to play at to give him a call so you might be seeing 'the Baron' again before too long, if he can get into the team that is, at the moment he can't even make the subs bench.

Well how come you said we didn't meet then, are you afraid that I might tell Paula a thing or two.

No. You can tell Paula absolutely anything you like so far as I'm concerned. I said we hadn't met - we never spoke or got within 50 feet of each other. Meeting, to me, is speaking to each other, face to face from close range. Didn't do that. Haven't done that with Paula either!
