Apparently Brimsdown don't do e-mail and none of their Committee have a computer according to the league handbook which makes life difficult when you have to send them programme material such as line up, history, crest and team picture.

I've made e-mail contact with Brimsdown in the past.

Really, could you PM me the details as I don't have an e-mail contact for anyone at Brimsdown, they seem to live in the dark ages. I do most of my business by e-mail as it saves on stamps and time.

Well we'll see although beating 'the mighty' Eton Manor 8-0 is not result of the century in my book. It looks like we will be going there with half a Reserve team as was the case at Biggleswade United in the Challenge Trophy and I'll be more than satisfied with a draw.

This is almost certainly an exaggeration given that it comes from you but even so, as I've said before, it's just a case of getting the excuses in early as it's a big game against a better side.

No-one's ever really sure with you!

So Rhodes following your logic a step6 club beating a step5 club 8-0 isn't a great result, but a high flying step6 club losing to a bottom of the league step5 club is an outstanding performance.

Rhodes said: Our amazing performance today at Brimsdown in what certainly turned out to be the match of the season so far infact that's an understatement. I know I'm going to regret this but ... if it's an understatement, what sort of result WAS it. I was going to congratulate you on a good result, but that clearly doesn't recognise the magnitude of the performance!
This is a quote from Horace from another thread and as I said the game certainly turned out to be the match of the season by far, hopefully someone from Brimsdown will come on later to verify that. They took the lead after a minute and most teams would have crumbled from that moment on, as was probably the case with Eton Manor last Tuesday, however we didn't bat an eyelid and went on to equalise through Lee Scott (who else). Brimsdown re-took the lead in the second half in a game that by this time resembled a chess match of Fischer and Spasky proportions, we then equalised with five minutes remaining through Tom McMullen and might well have won the game in the last few minutes, Brimsdown were delighted to hear the final whistle whereas we were a little disappointed with just a point.

Yes I thought so, I didn't want to come across as biased however following Bimsdown's recents 12-0 aggregate wins in the FA Vase and London Senior Cup and five wins from five in Division 1 it goes to show how good we are having almost beaten them.

We did beat them.. Rhodes is there a full report of your game v brimsdown. Given your negativity thats a surprisingly good result. Maybe you should put more faith in your back up players from now.

I'm penning it 'as we speak', I fully expected us to lose today however one of the players we weren't expecting to play missed being best man at his best friends wedding to play, that says it all about our players commitment.

or his friendship!

Yes I gather they have now fallen out big time but as I say that says it all about our crop of players who will all walk through brick walls for the Club.

Sorry but in my opinion thats a poor attitude on part of the player. A friends wedding should mean more to him than one game of football especially if he was best man. he's now possibly lost a good friendship whereas if he missed the game so what.

We may well have lost the game today without the player, namely Dave Dawson, who had a blinder, if we win the league by a point or finish second on goal difference it will be worth the sacrifice as he's one of the lads we have nurtured through from the tender age of twelve and bleeds sky and navy blue. I would have done the same and what was that Bill Shankly once said!

How could you possibly know all that considering you weren't even with the club last year and I presume he isn't 13!

Not at all, put it this way if your best friend was getting married today at 3.00 where would you have been, there or in Margate (be truthful).
