Actually, Rhodes, you've just reminded me of Gregg's false promises to "fill the bar with people after every Kentish Town home game" and "bring lots of functions into the clubhouse". Josie's do was the only thing that materialised.

 

Do you think, using your logic, that I should make a retrospective claim against Kentish Town FC for loss of projected and promised earnings? Perhaps you can send a cheque to me in the post, made payable to Potters Bar Town FC?

Lato - Not at all, we put some good business Potters Bar Town's way and the least we can expect is a measily 10%, it's not too much to ask for. I remember Josie being unsure about the venue particularly as it was a long way to go however I talked her into it otherwise she would have certainly gone elsewhere.

I thought you might have been embarrassed out of telling lies on here, but clearly you haven't.

Firstly, Gregg advised her to come to us because he didn't want business going the way of Haringey Borough - a club you were a committee member of at the time (therefore, even if your lie about "talking her into it" were true, that in itself would give Mr. Achillea solid justification for your dismissal).

Secondly, Josie came up to the clubhouse, under her own steam, to see the venue for herself. Josie (not you, not Gregg) decided that she liked the venue and would book it. She then stayed for a couple of drinks before leaving.

Well strangely enough that is exactly how it happened, as you rightly say I was still with Haringey at the time however Josie would never have had her do at Coles Park in a million years so she didn't take a great deal of persuading, I knew Gregg had suggested Parkfield to her but she was wavering until I stepped in so start writing out that cheque, call it an even £50.

So on 23rd we have PB V Canvey, Hoddesdon v Kentish Town, Hertford v Colney Heath, St Margaretsbury v Tring.. shame BBV&E are away at Chalfont!

 

Means quite a few of the posters are going to be within a 30 minute drive of each others games.. even Edgware are away at Biggleswade which means they could easily drop by on their way back down the A1.

NeutralFan - Yes if Potters Bar Town doesn't get his finger out soon lets decide on a venue handy for the games you mention above that take place on 23 December and go for it for a 6.30 start, it would be good to put faces to names and you will then see first hand that I'm really an okay guy. I thought Potters Bar Town would jump at the chance to put a bit of useful money into the Parkfield coffers.

To be fair a venue doesn't need to be booked for about 10 people to have a drink now does it! I'm pretty sure a decision can be made nearer the time as to what is convenient for most?
