Edgware take 24 coaches to an away game!!!!

Recommended Posts

Re the London Senior cup, Edgware played Leytonstone in the final in 1948 losing 0-2.

I wonder how many fans were in the 24 coaches? approx 40-50 per coach thats.....1300 ish !

" have not yet been able to find an official attendance figure for the match but the Hendon and Finchley Times reported that 24 coaches left the White Lion Ground that day.

Leytonstone’s semi-final against Barnet at Ilford had attracted an attendance of about 14,000 so we can assume that the Final was played before a similar number of spectators."

It could be that 24 members of the coaching staff walked out on the club having not been given free tickets for the game!

I would imagine it depends which FA you are a member of. Looking through the handbook, only Brimsdown, Haringey, Kentish Town and Cockfosters are London. Edgware are Middlesex.

...
Thats true, so do the above all compete in the LSC this season? I guess Rhodes would know lol

We beat Hoddesdon 5-0 in the London Senior Cup a few years ago. Hoddesdon also played in the East Anglian Floodlit Trophy that year.

Basically if you become an associate or full member of the London F.A I think you are eligible to play in their Senior Cup.

Gavin - This is a bit of a sore point as Kentish Town weren't entered in it this season for some reason before I joined the Club, when I was with Haringey it was a really good competition to be in and we went to places like Colliers Wood United and Barkingside where we lost 6-4 last season after extra time having led on four separate occasions, Takumi scored a wonder goal but then what's new.
