Tonights games

Recommended Posts

Not that we should worry about anybody - Stevenage are back in the picture, 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 games, Morecambe have now won 2 on the bounce, at Grays and Rushden at home tonight, Burton, 4 wins and unbeaten in their last six, we are due to play all of these sides plus Oxford (Well done Southport) and Woking in our next 10 league games.

I think that this division is facinating this year, every games a cup tie, it will be interesting to see the tables on December 9th after we have played Stevenage, the top 5 are likely (bar Oxford?)to be completely different.

The Times expect us to lose.

Expect Weymouth to grind out victory

Weymouth should be backed at a stand-out 21-20 with Bet365 to beat Gravesend, their visitors in the Nationwide Conference on Wednesday evening.

Most other bookmakers quote them at odds-on - Paddy Power are as short as 5-6 - for a match that will be shown live on Sky.

The Terras, third in the table, bounced back from two defeats with a 2-1 home win over St Albans, courtesy of two late goals from Wayne Purser.

Although Weymouth have been short of goals, their home form is exemplary, with five wins from six starts. They have scored only eight but, impressively, conceded just three.

Gravesend have been notably solid this term, their only two defeats from 12 outings coming in tough fixtures against Aldershot and York, and even then only by the odd goal.

Their away form is sound enough, with two wins and three draws from six matches, but if there is a criticism it may be that they lack the firepower to ovcercome the better sides in the division.

Expect this to be tight, but Weymouth’s defence gives them a strong platform from which to take the points.
