Interesting to have a look at the squad in the natural positions and who knows maybe the team selected in their natural positions may give us that 90 minutes we need.

Obviously there are "players" who can play more than one role but have a look at them in their natural role

Because other than 4-4-2 has in my (honest Pumpkin ) opinion failed at the back in critical times that is the set-up I prefer

I think that Jeff will have to out a few players who really aren't adding much to the team. As we are apparently signing three players, Jukka, Ty and one other, then it seems likely that at least three will leave. I would release Bertie Brayley, Craig Davidson, but I'm not sure about the third. I think that a midfielder will be released, but which one? Matt Jones seems to have made a poor impression on the mangement, but I think that his performances have got better and better as his fitness has improved. Spencer Knight is a good player, but his injury could make him surplus to requirements. Scott Forbes has also struggled to live up to expectations, so he could also be under threat. Chris Duffy has not really played a good consistent game all season, but on his day he is quality. Everyone else I believe has a place in the team. Can't wait to find out the news!!!

Glenn you forgot about David Gregory!! A player who hasn't played a 'proper' First XI game since Slough Town. I just hope that if he goes, it doesn't affect Neil.

You can't fault Forbes for effort, I noticed him at Park Lane over the Xmas period training alone in an effort to get himself back to fitness after his injury, that is something I rate!!

What I rate is a player's loyalty to the Club, especially if they're not getting a game and are willing to stay at CIFC to fight for their place in the team, (after your comment it reminds me of Crow, pabird! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)

Strange how none of the first responses have elected to pick a team of players in their natural positions

 

Let me remind one and all that some of the names you are releasing

came as "stars" not so long ago

Proven performance in some or all of the big games history plus performance away to teams like Purfleet on a cosy winters evening are the only proof

Add Parms

 

They are all able to receive,Pass and move and stay on their game for 90 minutes

All except Cowan have proven performance at the level required

Add the new as and when they arrive

 

I will struggle to accept players attempting to perform in positions that they are unhappy holding down

Hey Pabird. That’s just about my favourite starting line-up, at present, with the “old boys” as core to the team with only Minton and Cowan included. Maybe Harrison in for Potter, but a close call. Yes these are the ones that have performed for us at the proven level.
