In the Know - Burnham are a settled club building for the future and with the redevelopment of The Gore have a decent infrastructure. Can't see why Mudge would be interested in giving that up to join a club that is in terminal decline. I'd also perhaps put a question mark on how small the Burnham budget it but then that is based on hearsay.

Delahunty - done a very good job at SYCOB but may feel they can progress no further up the pyramid. Even so I'd be very surprised at him wanting to give up a successful role to join Slough.

If you saw Ernie Howe talking to Roy then perhaps there could be some substance but personally I would doubt it. There is a vacant role at Maidenhead with which he has been linked and much as it pains me to say it, the job at York Road seems a lot more attractive than being Rebels supremo at the moment.

Whoever comes in needs to be told the full scale of our problems and be prepared to be here for the longhaul. Our ground situation won't be sorted in the short term and with question marks over Deaner's commitment to future funding it is pretty clear we are not a club in position to progress upwards. With that in mind I'd be surprised if somebody like Ernie Howe who wants to re-establish himself after his time at Basingstoke would be interested in our managerial vacancy

mudge, by all accounts is one of the worst managers in non league! a complete clown who is related to the burnham chairman. they have a very big budget too!!! Please do not even consider him, would much rather the beaconsfield or marlow manager if we are chosing locally

Once again anoymous posters come on spouting rubbish. The complete clown you refer to took a young side made up of local players further in the FA Cup last season than all of the other local clubs from higher leagues. And what exactly do you call a big budget? And what's all this 'we choosing locally', do you think the clubs' management are going to ask the opinion of someone who doesn't even know their own name?

I could probably list the applicants that will apply for the job ie the same old faces that apply for every job in the area but aren't good enough as their records will show. Bernard, Roy [and possibly Deaner?] will have to sit down now and think very hard about the direction Slough Town FC is going to take and I honestly hope they get it right because this decision could be make-or-break for the clubs' future.

By the way best of luck to Eddie, the few dealings I've had with him were always pleasant and his sucesses of the last few years prove his ability at this level. The real problem nowadays is players who think they're worth more than they are and clubs silly enough to believe them!

Roger Rebel, yes, been there got the T-shirt and ended up relegated so I know what I'm talking about! Do you not think that's exactly what I was talking about and actually proving that throwing money at something doesn't necessarily make it better or is it just that you feel you need to have a pop everytime I post something on here?

I will base my views from what i have heard, this being by one of the current players father, who told me that the players have no respect at all for the manager and that the average wage is between £150-200 a week. The Marlow manger would be a much better candidate in MY OPINION!! took them to the play-offs last year. Good Luck Eddie.

Who would be your candidate Windsor Sec?

Have the club given a timetable for replacing Eddie as the official statment only mentions West & Wilko covering the Ramesgate game?

On previous form it would be the famous "two weeks"

Realistically to get the right Man (or Woman) I guess we are looking at about a month - would depend on what previous homework has been done prior to Eddies conformation of wanting to leave.

You're entitled to your opinion anonymous and I didn't disagree with your choice, I merely pointed out the recent record of someone you called a clown! All I can say about the budget is your figures would add up to twice the amount I've been given [and that's for the squad not just starting 11].
My choice for the job [for what it's worth] - given his knowledge of the club and of non-league players I would put Roy M in overall charge whilst bringing a younger man in under his wing to take over when things are more settled!

Burnham were the club who finished lowest out of all the clubs in this area. bottom half in the soutrhern western i believe.

Just making a point!! What is a better reflection of a mangers abilty Windsor Sec?

How they perform in the cup or how they perform in the league? Steve Browne has had a few good cup runs and we all know what he's like as a manager!!!
