Steve Browne has a new packet of Tic Tac's!!!

Or the poof off the telly - 100% record <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

As I stated on the Folkstone match post I thought that Eddies stability and level headedness were needed - however I then went on to say the the behind the scenes issues would restrict his options, and it looks like something like this has happened.

If Eddie has left I wish him well and thank him for his contributions to the team as a player, coach and manager.

Well done Eddie for all that you have done for Slough but i cant blame you for quitting, this club has no money no ambition and going nowhere and god help the next manager who comes in, i am sure if Deaner has his way he will give S B----e a call as that is about the level of things at this shambles of a club. Home attendances will drop below 200 now as we are so bad and lets face it what incentive is there to go

Considering the clubs financial position I would like to see Wilko given the job with Daly as his assisitant. Theoretically this would free up some money for new players.

I cant see the club bringing anyone new in.

I'd like to hear this confirmed before commenting fully.

If it's true though, I can't blame the guy one bit. He's had to put up with so many budgetary constraints and players leaving every season. It must be incredibly frustrating to have no continuity season after season and seemingly no future with regards to moving back to Slough and getting on a reasonable budget. He deserves praise for the 7(?) years he's spent with the club as player and manager and thanks for all the good times in the Cups.

If this is true,I actually think it may be a blessing in disguise.Eddie has done a reasonable job over the years but no more than that.He is,by far,a better coach than manager.Too many players seem to question his advice especially Steve Daly who is his captain!

The FA cup victory over Walsall was a great result but Micky Lewis's influence shouldn't be under estimated.

I know money is extremely tight this year but i'm sure a respected manager could get more out of this bunch of players.I would discard Steve Daly this year and use his wages to get me a proven goal scorer and get Mark West to work with the younger strikers.I would discard Anachlett Odiambo who's to lightweight, works hard but not up to it.He would make a better long-distance runner than a footballer!I would keep Daryl Harris as I think he will develop.I would then bring in another striker to replace Odiambo.Possibly someone who's played non-league for awhile and has scored goals wherever he's been but isn't on top wages now.Bryan Hammett comes to mind. That would be a start, wouldn't it?

i hope it isnt true but if it is then i can completely understand why he would leave, and good luck to him. the club appears to be sliding under the current financial problems and lack off attraction to better quality players, it is my opinion that we have been lucky to hold onto eddie for this long.

it would seem that mark west would be the natural successor with him being the assistant manager, with wilko moving to assistant, but maybe the club will look for a straight replacement, who knows.

But the little boy in the dyke comes to mind...

lets hope he can keep his finger in the dam until we sort it....
