All I know is that "I saw a pin" on the floor & I "picked it up" & if the rest of the saying comes true "all the day you'll have good luck" then I will be a happy bunny.

Just thought I'd share that moment with you on a day such as today.

Co-incidence or not? I havent seen a pin on the floor for ages until today.

How about unlucky omens ? six years to the day since Banstead knocked us out of the Cup for the second time in four years and 17 since we lost 1-0 at Wokingham in another Cup tie.

 

On the bright side the last time we lost to a Kent League club in the FA Cup was on 15.9.84 when Sittingbourne beat us 3-2 at Hartsdown.

 

Last time we lost an FA Cup tie away to a Kent League club was 1981 - a 2-1 defeat at Deal.

 

You have to go back to the 1950's when we were in the Kent League ourselves to find any other FA Cup defeats at the hands of Kent League clubs apart from the two games mentioned above.

You're a bright spark this morning Jeff. Nice to hear of our past miserys on a day like today. Nothing like putting people into a good frame of mind is there? I'm sure you meant some of that as a positive but can you dig up some other HAPPY results & stats too, to be going into todays game with? l.o.l.

I think your post should be pinned up on dressing room wall prior to the game to remind the players what can easily occur.

Talking of Lucky Omens, how about this for an Unlucky Omen? I asked KP a few weeks ago about a squad photo and he said he thought they were unlucky as at least 2 teams we've played have had their squad photo taken just before a match against Margate which they have lost. He wasn't willing to risk it before a cup tie. Did you spot Whitstable lining up for their squad photo ahead of yesterday's game?
