To answer Gavins question regarding............

Recommended Posts

His post about wembley on the CCL forum.

What has made us the side we are now, i think Ian Bates becoming player manager has definitley helped, he's not been afraid to bring in new players, whereas from what i understand the old management team didn't like to do, even if they knew they wasn't good enough.

So with a new competitive edge to training and a new belief due the results we started to get when the new players started to gel towards the end of last season, everyone vowed to stay together to have a right go at whatever league we were in this season and our form has seemed to of carried over!

And having no reserves this season has left the pitch in absolute mint condition allowing us to play the kind of football which is not only pleasing on the eye but also gets us results!

Do you think you would have done just as well if you were in the SSML instead of the CCL?

Edgware have a reserve side again this season, our pitch still looks in great condition though, and thats with the youth team playing on it too.

I think we are benifiting from having a reserve side as there seeme to be more compittion for places now.

Well i dont know the reasoning behind us getting rid of the reserves, i heard it was to do with the pending ground share with hendon. but as a result having one game on it every 2 weeks has left it lush!

I remember spartan being a tough league, and dont know how we would of done i would of liked to think we would of done well, one things for sure there would of been a load of derby games to make it interesting with edgware and kingsbury.

Yes your pitch is in great condition, when was it re-laid? when I watched them years ago it used to be terrible condition, I think the new owners are going to have a lovely lawn, I will also say the plants will grow well because they will be plenty of the Pink Elephant stuff needed to grow them.

So are Hendon going to groundshare wtih Wembley? how the mighty have fallen

I dont know why Wembley did not come to join the Spartan, I can't imagine it was down to location because surely Wembley would have been included. Maybe they thought the CCL was a better league to get out of? I dont know having not seen any CCL games.

As you say there would have been more local derbys plus the likes of Ruislip/Haringey.

Still Wembley seem to be doing very well, good luck to them, hopefuly we can play eachother next season in Ryman 1
