Good interview with Paul Campbell in the gazette.

This line was rather telling.

''I had a few offers from other teams and i was really disapointed with the way i played at the end of last season, when the team needed some big performances.

But i spoke to some people who have left the club for whatever reason, and they all said they wished they hadn't.The whole set-up at Town is very professional, and they said it just wasn't the same.''

I'm delighted Paul decided to stick around he is quality and alongside Rudi Hall, Jerome John, Adam Gant, David Allen, Steve Velandia, Jamie Mackay, Ricci Crace to name but a few we are gathering together a stronger team again.

If a few more of the new boys could cut the mustard Town would be up there pushing for promotion.

Quite a vote of support for JC and the way he runs things.

Few contradictions here.

We were told the current squad was stronger than last year's. The new boys need to 'cut the mustard'. Does that mean they are not up to it then. JC brings back players who left so ne needs a vote of support? I am confused!

That GREAT news, cos it now sorts out a lot of "JETS" Favourite Players!!!

Brilliant! Rudi is quality and isn't frighted of work! "We love you Rudi we do!"

Steve Velandia is good but needed Rudi alongside him. With Rudi and Steve available for set-pieces we should be much sharper.

I'm not so sure. At times last season the pair did not work as a unit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that Velandia has really come out of his shell this season. I think the real need is a John Ridout/Paul Turner type to provide the platform that Steve and/or Rudi can play from.

The current squad will be strongeer than last years team. The likes of Crace,Mackey,Patrick,Bastian have improved our squad. But a few other players who came to Town with good repuations, have not yet performed.

I dont get it! I thought we had a stronger squad this season than last , And now we have two of last years squad back in. I have to admit I winced when Dave Allen came back ,More come backs than P J proby this one . And Rudi I find a little puzzling given the fact he lives so far away ? whats to stop him moving on again With the distance he travels ,it would not be a surprise. Who next back in Geordie ? Chopper ? Matty ? clarkey ? We should move forwards NOT backwards.

So the search for the big strong striker goes on then!

Reckon you will see Matty before xmas myself, doubt we will see Chops unless certain obsticles are removed & if Geordie comes back I hope its as manager or coach but not playing!!

I agree with Tom regarding Rudi, Valandia has lost his shackles since Rudi departed & has been playing well, midfield of Mackey & Valandia might now never be seen.

Geordie as manager your having a laugh. "If "and a vey big "IF" Jim decides to call it a day which he probably wont who will be the number 1 choice, Peter hammett ? that means Bryan will never be dropped , Andy Pape ? Alan Fenn ? Andy Leese ? George Borg ,Gary Calder . But Geordie Nah not a chance.

I've seen Rudi out and about a few times in Enfield over previous months.I reckon he spends quite a few weekends in North London. No sure how regular his mid-week appearences will be though.
