Canvey have signed Finnish International player Jukka Ruhanen from FC Haka. He played against Fulham in this years Intertoto Cup. You can see a couple of pictures of Jukka at:

He will be arriving in England on Friday, and assuming the game goes ahead against Basingstoke then he should make his debut. He is a striker come midfielder, and is Haka's 4th top scorer this year.

Well, the Scandinavians are usually pretty good at English, so I imagine he can. After all, Steve Parmenter is Welsh and he picked it up okay!

Interesting signing and don’t know what to say except, hope it all works out. How the hell did we get hold of him. Is he here to beef up the middle or instead of one the regular front two? Must be some existing players on their way soon to make room, and free up some cash.

I hate to say this, but why the hell would he want to join us in the first place? A Finnish international playing for a Ryman League club? Doesn't this dent his chances of a call-up slightly?

Actually I've just worked out Ruhanen's age, he's 31 in April, maybe he doesn't want to play international football anymore...

Greetings from Finland.

 

Ruhanen was not interested in playing top-level football anymore. If I remember correctly he moved to england because he wants to pursue his studies. I think he will be studying languages. Although he didn't wan't to stop playing football, therefore he joined your fine club.

Hope he will play well for you!

I can't imagine that english non-league is any worse than the finnish Veikkausliiga, so he'll probobly do just fine. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I don't think that Jukka Ruhanen will have any problem with his English, pity that the same can't be said for Cum on Rickay.
