MADNESS SENDS BATTERED BROOK THROUGH

BRACKNELL Town fans will this morning still be reeling from an early cup exit that they had in the bag.

The Robins put in what was far and away their most energetic and commited performance of the season as Manager Alan Taylor gave starts to James Joyce, Jordan Oldham and Michael Ruffles in the League Cup, all three players will surely be pushing for a start on Saturday after assured performances.

Garry Sargeant proved his worth again scoring twice as the Robins looked comanding going forward and solid at the back.

However, going into injury time at the end of the 90 minutes and 2-1 up, Goalkeeper Paul McCarthy, who had really impressed in recent games with some fantastic saves, lashed out and was sent-off with a penalty awarded to Brook House.

The game went to extra-time with Brook House adding a third, but the Robins still battled pushed forward and despite a spate of attacking substitutions by Taylor, couldn't find an equaliser in a game they thoroughly deserved to win.
