Oh what a night Tring 2 - Edgware 6 !!!!

Recommended Posts

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> A superb performance tonight by Edgware. Scoring six goals away at Tring who have been improving of late. Richard Morton nettng a hat trick, Adam Wallace a brace and Stuart Blackburne getting in on the goals.

We played some lovely stuff at times, gave away a couple of silly goals, that Tring took well. Nice place Tring, nice little ground, best I have been to so far this season. Very friendly people, and made us very welcome.

To make the evening even better all the top clubs dropped points apart from us. Harefield failing to beat Holmer Green who we took apart. Must have been some game in a 3-3 draw. Hertford, leverstock ,and Langford in their first home league game ALL dropping points.

With no league game for us on Saturday, it will mean they wont have an extra game in hand and we will over some sides. We dont have another league game now for over week with our next two games in the cups.

So, just a point behind Harefield who are showing signs of faltering, conceding more in one game then they had in the whole season so far.

Next up is Harefield in the challange trophy....bring it on!!!!

Gavin - Have you got any pics, Tring normally put pics on their Website straight after games but they are conspicuous by their absence after your result last night, a bit like Lato is on the Forum following your complimentary thread on Kentish Town yesterday, he must be crying into his beer that, as you say, everyone is shouting about us from the roof tops. It would be coincidence if we both finished as Champions wouldn't it although that would sadly mean we wouldn't meet next season as you'll be going onto bigger and better things, we could always arrange a pre season friendly, a bit like a Charity Shield type game.

Agree Manic. We face the bottom 3 in our next 3 league games - we simply must get 9 points from these games.

I notice that BBB are picking up points and moving up the table. Last night was an excellent all round team peformace. Tring are improving, and were not the worst side we have played so far.

When we heard the other results it was the even better. You are going to get days when the top sides lose, so if you can advantage and win and score six then its extra pleasing.

It now means that as we dont have a game on Saturday, we can only slip to 3rd I think, and Harefield will be level on games with us.

Right now we are looking VERY good, but dont want to get carried away yet.

Tring have come along way in just a few seasons, I think it was three years ago I went to watch Tring vs The 61 at their old "ground" at Miswell Lane and I think its fair to say that if they didn't pull off the surprise take over of Tring Town then they would be down with us in Division Two. Fair play to them as they have worked hard to get where they are now.
