sorry but its nearly all over for slough as a football club,my 40 yrs of watching have come to a sad end. this is the worst team and certainly the worst manager in living memory.don't bother mentioning lack of money-in the 80's terry reardon managed a side of youth and sunday morning park players-not only did we put millwall out of the cup,we maintained a fair standard of football, which has not and certainly won't be match by this shower.if the average supporter can see that the forward line is far to small, the defence far to slow, surely the manager should be able to see that.

so R.I.P. slough town, it was a wonderful journey up until a few years back.

I agree hotspur that something needs to be done - but not supporting the team? How does that help?

The problem is we are seriously handicapped by not having our own ground, an invisible chairman and a very low wage budget and small squad.

Times have moved on since Reardon's days - i would love the club to be full of slough players battling for the shirt. (I've heard Ramsgate are mainly local lads who are doing well this season on the back of two promotions so it can be done)Maybe we need a few of our supporters to do some scouting for the club?

Worst manager? Surely that goes to Steve Browne? Eddie has had to rebuild a team at the beginning of nearly every season, with his hands tied behind his back. And he didn't his team put Walsall out of the FA Cup, a better cup victory i would say than Millwall.

Why would the club fold?

Dartford didn't (14 years in exile)

Chelmsford (8 years)

Maidstone (going back soon after 12 years)

I agree tho' its imperative we keep the pressure up - your letters to the press are always to the point and witty. Need to talk to the council and prepare for next years election. Staines Rebels point about a mini manifesto should be started on now, for distribution to councillors and the general public.

I'm afraid Hotspur, money is the problem.

Do you think that Terry Reardon etc would have stayed loyal to Slough if they had been offered the equivelant of £300/500 per week to play for Hampton or Staines...of course not, they would have jumped ship like the rest of them.

Even though I don't agree with some of Eddie's decisions I think he has been given mission impossible trying to bring together a team virtually from scratch with no money.

Most teams go through hard times and some faid into obscurity but the true supporter remains.

I did say fold sooner or later. If Dartford, Chelmsford and Maidstone had reached a point where they felt that there was no chance of a return to their Boroughs, would they have survived?

My point is that things are unlikely to improve greatly until we do get a ground of our own. Until that happens survival in the current league will in itself be a success.

It's quite funny to see you lot doing so badly. Learn from windsors mistakes and make the changes early or get ready for some of the worst games EVER!

P.S Dave good to see you yesterday!
