Paula - A lot of nice countryside up there, I know you're a lover of the great outdoors. Did you go to the football ground, my last visit to Brunton Park was in 1981 and I remember seeing sheep grazing behind one of the goals, well outside the ground that is.

Paula - You're every guy's dream you know that, Carlisle v Cheltenham on a Sunday when you're on holiday, you can drink most blokes under the table, have a great personality, you drive a 4 x 4, have your own place and have a good job and that's just for starters, how come you haven't been snapped up long ago.

For great North East stalwarts although there are so many, Staurt Boam, Alan Foggon, Ritchie Pitt, Bobby Kerr, John Hickton, Bobby Moncur, Willie McFaul, Vic Halom..the list is endless, in my opinion you can't beat the wonderfully named Irving Nattrass.

A joke popular with the Sunderland fans of the 70's:

Sunderland were playing away at Tottenham. The management decided that they would fly to the game. but Colin Todd and Montgomery, the goallie were scared of flying and went by train.

They got to White Hart Lane to find that the plane's take off had been delayed by fog, so they had to start the game without the rest.

With the score goalless, Todd was injured, so badly that he was concussed, and taken to hospital. When he came round, later that evening, he found Monty sitting at his bedside. "What happened?" he asked. "We lost 6-0", said Monty. "Not bad, I suppose" said Todd. "Not bad?" replied Monty, "It was still 0-0 at halftime, but then the rest turned up!"

Lato - Some great names there that's for sure, the whole Sunderland 1973 team still trips off the tongue and I still don't know how Montgommery pulled off that save.

Lato - I don't think I've missed him but Wynn Davies doesn't appear to be on the list, I'm sure he was one of your favourites too at the time and I think he had a brother Ron who played for Southampton.
