Cinderford away

Is there going to be a coach for the game as there is no train station in cinderford.

Its not far from gloucester and I didn't fancy driving for it.

you don't have to walk do ya, looked on there website and get the bus to the ground from gloucester

At the moment coaches for supporters are working out too expensive for the club to run.

 

Due to the size of coach needed and the difference in price bewteen that one and the normal size one, the club are always losing out.

 

I know that they have to pay for the coaches anyway but the agreement was that we would run bigger coaches for supporters IF the difference in price could be met by the selling of seats to supporters.

 

So for now and the forseable future there will be no space on the coaches for supporters.

How much is the difference.

Do the club not want anyone to follow the team away anymore.

This is a long distance for non league.

You've seen the support at away games, especially bashly first game, the crowd were very very noisey and thats what the players need, even if they lose!

depending on the difference surely there must be enough supporters that wish to make the trip to cinderford so that the cost could be made up. its a long way to drive and the there is no train statuon in cinderford. as it has been known about the long distance fixtures why was it not considered that a larger coach may be needed for such occasions?

We tried this before and people say that they will come and then suddenly change their mind and we are lubered with the bill.

 

If you go on the GWR website and book in advanced it is very cheap, probably cheaper then we would be able to do the coach for, as log as you book more than four days in advance.

i thought something was bought up at the start of the season about coaches and that they would be sorted for the games??

There were a list of games that we concidered to be of a distance that a coach would be provided for the players and should their be enough interest and space, supporters would be allowed to travel at a price.

 

There have basically been two issues that have arisen:-

 

1) There are now more players travelling on the coach than last season, which is what we were basing the numbers on.

 

2) There seems to be a major price difference between the two sizes of coaches and with the amount of supporters that we would have travelling on the coach we would be looking at charging nearly £20 a seat which I don't think many people would pay.

 

If something can be arranged I will let you know, but at the moment there will be no provision for supporters to travel on the team coach.

An option is better than no option Malc? If it has to be £25.00 a head it's a choice then at least, rather than good luck make your own way.

 

You can do these things 3 weeks in advance, set a deadline (good for you) ask for monies by that deadline. If there are not sufficient numbers by that deadline all monies refunded and then it's good luck make your own way.

 

Give people a choice but on your terms..appreciate you have a million and one other things to do and give a lot of your time FOC.

We have 2 games before then. Enough time to ask people and collect money off them.

Would this not be considered as long distance!

There is no train station so how can you book a train ticket!

I think Lydney might be the nearest station but that is at least 10 miles away. It's only a small station so I can't see there being many trains stopping there on a Saturday.

Even if the club only runs a coach to one game this season then this should defo be the game.

Rail to Gloucester, Stagecoach Forest of Dean service No.31 to Cinderford (hourly service during day). Not suitable for evening games as bus service does not run late. Bus stop outside Cinema in Town Centre. Five minute walk to ground via pedestrian walkway (with Co-op Supermarket on your right) into Hilldene housing estate. Continue ahead into Edgehills Road.

 

If you pre-book the tickets through www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk then it costs £13.00 (this is using single tickets £6.50 each way).

 

I am not using this as an excuse. As I said earllier I will see what can be done.
