SteveR
So... what happened? Why wasn't it called off earlier? What about all those people that travelled to the game only for it to be called off with 45 minutes to go - can't Clarence Park cope with a little bit of water ;-) At least the Ducks would have been at home. Mickey Mouse club!!!!! PS - in all seriousness, I can't say I was surprised that it fell so late if you had the downpour we had in Watford around 2pm. Happy New Year to all at SACFC (apart from when you eventually get to play at the Claremont Road Swimming Pool).
Webbo MFI
read the website Steve if it wasn't for a downpour at 1:45 the game would have gone ahead unlike the drizzle before the Hendon postponement
Guest
Message for Wilf Woodend.... please, please put me out of my misery. Did the nice people behind the bar at Clarence Park take your hard-earned cash on the pretext of there being a game of football? Please say they did - it would get my 2003 off to the best possible start. PS. If you really are Wilf Woodend, I'd just like to say that you are quite possibly the worst goalkeeper I've ever had the good fortune to see line up against Hendon in my many years of watching them. Wilf Woodend
No. Such was SACFC's efficiency that I was able to learn that the game was off before the need to leave for the ground. Also it was called off because of heavy rain just before kick off wheras the game Boxing Day was off becase of a light shower in November. Wilf Woodend Snr sadly passed away some years ago but rumours he drowned in a HFC goalmouth at Claremont Rd one August are incorrect. When he did nearly drown there one day he was revived although a HFC fan who assisted the rescue did suffer brain damage having been engulfed in the mud for too long than was good for him. His name was also Simon.
