Southend: Blues youth player let off speeding charge

A SOUTHEND United youth player broke the speed limit on the A127 because he was afraid he was being chased, a court heard.

 

Kurt Husnu was found not guilty of speeding on November 13 last year, because Southend magistrates accepted he believed people were after him.

 

Husnu, 18, of Alexander Road, East Ham, London, told the court a group of people used abusive language on him when he was in Talks two week before.

 

On the day of the incident, he thought the same people were driving behind him.

 

The magistrate said: "We accept you were speeding, but on the balance of probability we accept you thought you were being threatened. "

 

Husnu plays for Southend United's youth team.
