Fat chance of a reply!!!!!!!

Having emailed on the 2nd September and then followed up with a letter on the 11th September I have not yet had a reply from Roy.

Therefore I throw open to the contributors on this forum the oppertunity to answer these questions:

1. What is Martyn Deaners current position in regard to the club and how much longer can you see this continuing?

2. What actions have/are the club doing to find a permenant ground of our own and what communications have there been with Slough Council?

3. What is your view on the performance of the team so far this season considering that only 3 points have been gained in the first 5 games? (now 4 from 7)

4. What are the longterm (3-5 years) objectives of the club?

My sugetions to Roys answers are:

1. Whilst it can be used as a tax loophole he will stay

2. Do we need to talk to the council?

3. I dont see a problem - it saves money on the win bounus

4. To win the Leauge this year and the FA cup next!!!!

Why should I have expected the club to communicate with the fans? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wall.gif" alt="" />

Clive, your personal vendettas do seem to be piling up.

First we had the dramatic attack on the Trusts involvement in the ground situation. You then launched a ridiculous personal attack on Jamie Jarvis, calling for us to ‘give him stick every time he gets the ball and hound him out of the team’. I remember you stated you would never watch Slough whilst Jamie was wearing a Slough shirt (how long did that last, half a game?)

Now you seem to be on a constant mission to hound Roy at every available opportunity. We all know the club has many problems, if it was announced that the club was folding tomorrow, would anyone be surprised? – NO! But while we do have a club to call our own, lets try and resolve the problems, not become one.

We all know that communication from the club is not wonderful, I agree it does need to be improved. However what other club at this level has one man managing the day to day running of everything? I cant think of one, can you?. Once Roy has finished all the paperwork, travel arrangements, players wages, match day arrangements, taking the kit to the laundrette, dialogue with Windsor officials and any other work he has to do, I’m sure he will respond to your letter. In the mean time, why not save your time and his by seeing him on Saturday. I know his door is always open if you arrive early enough on a match day, go on, give it a go!

Sorry to go on about the tax issue, Liam, and I know you were quoting someone else but only paying tax if the name is on the shirt makes no sense whatsoever. This is an expense and more likely to be an allowable deduction for tax purposes if it was obviously in the form of an advertisement (i.e. a company name on a shirt).

I remain a puzzled tax inspector.

There are two things that puzzle me over this as well:-

1) If it's a tax dodge, then why tell eveyone about it. Surely you'd want to keep it quiet.

2) If he has 'donated' an amout of money and doesn't want his name on the shirts then has the club done anything to find a company to put on the shirts to make more money?

Dominic all I want are simple answers, however when I go through the correct channels such as using the "contact us" email on the CLUBS website and send a letter to the CLUB, both the clubs own suggested ways of contacting them I get nothing.

The reason I am after a written reply is so the answer is clear and not a conversation that could be misunderstood.

To answer your other points I have changed my opinion of Jamie Jarvis after he appologised to Emma and proved his commitment to the club by his actions on the field.

As per the Trust I have agreed to disagree with the objectives of the Trust and I have made no comment about the trust for a long period.

I would like for everyting to be rosie with the club and have us in the top 3, however we are not and sometimes questions have to be asked - how do you sugest the club resolves all its problems?

Clive you disagree with the aims of the trust..

This is a fundamental part of supporting a club the trust is in place to help and support the club. We have a mandate and are guided by the supporters direct movement.

Who endorse our aims , that we have also to be a part of the community supporting variuos projects and supporting junior football in the slough area.

I have listern to what you have ask and presented an opportunity to see Roy.

We are concerned and lack a forward position, but you constant ideal to get to the bottom of the problems, will not solve slough town surviving, all I personally see is those who snipe and constantly undermining the club , do more damage than they think and again allow people to inspect our dirty washing in public.

If you feel so passionate about your club, stand on the board of the Trust and try to change things.

Otherwise please put your ideas on here how your going to be able to change things and how your going to be able to fund the team and also get the club back into the town it represents.

To be honest I don't see what the problem is with Clive's email. Questions 1, 2 and 4 are all legitimate enquiries about what direction the club is heading. Roy is part of the new company and so there is no issue in directing the questions there. I think it is much more sensible to put the request in writing and await a written response. That way the words are more considered and less emotive and there is less opportunity to misconstrue the answers. One of the great problems with the club is the chinese whispers of "information." Someone gets told something or overhears this or that and passes it on to someone else and in the end nobody really knows anything.

And how does this constitute a tax loophole? The point I was making was that it makes it more likely to be an allowable business expense if it can be seen to be advertising. Not putting your company's name on the shirt front doesn't make any sense from a tax point of view

Tax loophole maybe the wrong term for me to use.

What is stranger to me is why Martyn Deaner made this "shirt sponsorship" with out having a name on the shirt - why not just make a donation to the club like Chris Evans and allow the shirts to be sponsored by another company therefore bringing in more income to the club? (chris - a sugestion to increase funds for the club!)

As said in the previous post I am not going to and have not for period of time made any comments about the Trust either negative or positive as I wish to be independant of the Trust.
