The first 40 minutes was probably as well as we have passed the ball this this season - very good. Burbridge was excellent, held the ball up superbly and when he is fit to play the full 90 mins (he tired soon after half time) will be a major asset. Hampton's best spell came either side of half time, good penalty shout turned down and hit the bar. We've finished the 90 strongly. Extra time low on chances, both sides looked a little tired.

Hodges took the first pen for us, there guy put his against the post and we were on our way. Their third pen was well wide so Collins stepped up to put us through.

Simon agree that was the best passing performance i have seen for a long while and the R'cay fully deserved to go through to the next round and i also thought Danny Kerrigan was outstanding last night and is currently one of the best left backs in the leauge.

Absolutely. We put them under some prolonged pressure in first half. Burbridge made a big difference and you got the feeling there was a confidence about the side in the first half that hasn't quite been there for much of the season so far. Thought we had a good penalty shout turned down when Flack got flattened going for a cross about halfway through the first half. Second half was more even but still made some good chances. Great evenings entertainment.

I thought that Hodges was a constant menace to Hampton all evening. His first touch is a class above.

Be interesting to see how Nathan and Burbridge would get on playing together. Burbridge looks good at holding the play up and with Nathans power it could cause a few problems. Felt that Flack was out muscled a few time last night but his pace did cause them a few issues.

Thought Leon had a great first half too.

For me, never a doubt when we went to pens. Blewitts pen was the pick of the bunch for me.

Certainly our best 90 minutes this season. I thought Burbridge played well and agree with Simon that he held the ball up well. Everything he flicked on went to a 'Ricay player and when he is fully fit, I can see Flack getting onto some of those and scoring.

For me the man of the match was Blewitt. He was different class all game.

On a "thank you" note. I was speaking to Matt Jones last night and he said that the management and the players all appreciate our support and patience...He thought it was especially good that the "Blue Army" started singing the "Nathan Elder" song when he came on. Just to say he was/is impressed with the support we are giving the team and wanted to thank us.

Another tough and close fought game between us and Hampton. As said, the first half was quite possibly our best display in terms of passing and there were some outstanding performances from individuals last night. Second half i thought the tempo slowed but thinking about it probably as much to do with tiring limbs and the impending thought of extra time looming.

Now for the pens !! Who thinks the (prima donas)from the England team should learn their trade from watching our spot kicks! Absolutely superb! Twice now we have been involved in spot kick shootout and lets face it the pressure was all on our lads. Every single kick was spot on! As for Billy jumping into the crowd along with David Collins closely followed by the rest of the team to me shows what a bond their is between fans and team !! WELL DONE LADS. Now lets take this forward. Turning point of season anyone?!?

Fantastic to get through to the next round, a good draw to play Hayes at home. I was very impressed with the first half performance, i think the best weve played so far this season. Was also impressed with Burbridge. We still havent scored a first half goal though! I think im right in saying that 9 out of ten games have been 0-0 at half time.

Second half was a bit of a downer, didnt create all that much. Having said that, Hampton created very little all game, apart from a great shot that came off the bar. Billy didnt have a great deal to do all game due to the continued solidity of our defense.

Extra time was much the same as the second half. The penalties were all excellent, right in the corners. I think we deserved to get through pn last nights performance.

Great to see Billy getting involved with the crowd, its great when the players show passion and enjoyment in a win, as did all the players last night. Poor Billy got absolutely mobbed, i dread to think what would have happened if hed actually saved one!

Well done everyone, as Keith says this gives us something to build on, and we can take this win forward as a boost for Saturday

3 games Vs H&R in ten days, we conceded just one goal, and come away with two victories and a draw.

I doubt many teams in our division could manage that.

Our players gave their all last night, every one of them.

Congratulations Lads, you done us proud.

Hasn't Burbs played in the FA Cup for Hornchurch already this season?

No. Wasn't even on the bench.

On the subject of penalties, we've seen 19 so far this season (10 v Maldon, 7 last night, 1 v Staines and 1 v Boreham Wood). We've scored 10 out of 10, however only 5 out of 9 have gone against us, 4 of which were with Dorms in goal...

Yes - totally agree well played lads. Once it went to penalties there was only going to be one winner. I'm surprised they even scored one penalty given all the support behind the goal. The win definitely should be chalked up as an 'assist' from the fans.

One gripe, however, as a new supporter I've been to three games this season which, including the extra time, equates to 300 minutes of football and I've seen the grand total of 1 goal. Please tell me this is unusual and its going to get better.

However I was impressed with the first half performance and with Burbridge in particular. I hope Matt finds a way to accommodate him and Nathan in the same team.

On the subject of the next round, and not kowing much about non league football, is Hayes a good draw? Is the one division gap a significant one in terms of quality? In short is this a winnable tie?

Hayes are currently 2nd from bottom in the Conference South. I wouldn't say the gap between the leagues is that great. The promoted sides of Braintree and Fisher seem to be doing alright and I don't think either side has changed much about their squad. Winable? I'd say so.

As for the goals, it is unusual and I certainly hope it gets better!

It is unusual for the team not to score goals. Over the past seasons, when the front pair are not scoring, we got goals from midfield. I think it is not just lack of confiedence but the teams that we have played at home have put 10 men behind the ball, whenever they could. So put the two together and we'll struggle but I can see it getting better as the season goes on and teams get tired and get injuries and we get our scoring confiedence back.

Flack certainly looks sharper and Burbridge looks as if he can do the job but he needs to get fitter. We've just got to bang in a couple against someone and we're on our way.
