Told you so.

Nice pitch, old fashioned wooden stand to one side, Good clubhouse, so remember to bring beer tokens.
We are going well in the Kent league, so hopefully we will prove to be a good test for your boys.

what are they like as a team,we have them in the trophy in a couple of weeks

Watched them last night against Deal, game ended 5-4 to the Oystermen (whitstable), as you can see by the score they can leak a few goals, but on last nights showing they have the bottle to attack right to the last minute, they were 4-3 down in this game and come back to salvage it.

They have played only 5 league games and sit joint top with Faversham town who have played 7 games on 15 points a piece, would be nice if they could take a couple of big scalps as I'm sure the town would get behind them and stop sloping off to watch all the London clubs.

how many do you get at your games at the Belmont.

Dont laugh, our biggest local derby is Herne bay, can attract up 600+, this season at home we got 367 for that, the talk around the ground last night was to expect at least 1,000 v Margate, unfortunately for me wont be able to make it due to childs birthday party, ironically in Herne Bay.
Trying to wangle 1st half, but wife deflecting all my excuses,we've only had 2 games in the league excluding Deal last night, so averaged 260 per home game so far this season.

For such an important game for both clubs I would really hope that many more than 200 could make the journey from Margate.

It will be great to see a competitive match between the two clubs, reminiscent of the old Kent League days of the 1950's.

The last time that I saw the Whitstable ground, about 18 months ago, it looked in good shape.

I guess the distance is about 15 miles and if we can get around 600 - 700 for League games at present hopefully we could get a really good percentage of that at Whitstable.

The income from FA Cup matches is split evenly i believe, so a big crowd would benefit the MFC coffers as much as Whitstable,so important to get a good crowd and even more important to get the win, the prize fund and progress to R3.

Won't take it for granted by any means though.

Hope RT and MF have Whitstable watched in advance.

The FA Cup has got to be very serious for us this year

Totally agree.

Top of Kent league places them on a par with sides in top half of Ryman One and there are plenty of sides there who would give us a game-we only scrapped through re:Fleet.

Guess Whistable are in similar position to Ramsgate just 16 months ago-and they would give us tough friendly matches even 16 months ago-so yes it will be another tough one/banana skin waiting to happen-trust the management team do their homework and have them watched.

We should progress though

Very little excuse for any of our regular home supporters not to go to Whitstable - five minute walk from the train station and 15 mins down the road by car. Think it can even be done by bus without too much problem. The town's about 10 minutes walk away.

Seen quite a bit of Whitstable over the past few seasons and they're a different kind of side to Ramsgate, or at least how Ramsgate were in the KL. Whitstable try and pass the ball around and haven't been the most physical side when I've seen them. Steve Marshall (briefly of Margate) up front is lively and has played at a higher level and player-manager Marc Seager is a big danger from free kicks around the box. They've definitely been a bit suspect at the back for the past couple of years - don't know about this season though.

Great ground to visit for anybody who hasn't been there before, last time we played at Whitstable in a competitive match was 6.12.58 and we've never played them in the FA Cup before.
