Just GREAT,well done the GATE,the Fleet had there chance but not a 2nd time around,cant wait to get the report of the fans that went,cant help feeling that Trotty made the diff: in the back,think he should play there all the time when fit,again well done the boys,I can go on hoilday now feeling alot better,UP THE GATE.

MASSIVE MASSIVE RELIEF.

 

As game thread suggests,first half scored against run of play-well taken 'poachers' goal.

 

Second half we played better and had a bit of control, but Fleet still threatened .They had alot of free kicks from about 30 yards out throughout the match and quite a few got a bit close.

5 minutes from end after they hit crossbar, just felt it would be our night.

 

No-one played particularly well, but it was never going to be that sort of game-just a simple slog and we came out winners which is all that mattered.

 

Fleet can count themselves unlucky on the night aswell as over the two games, but we will have games like that, and in others play alot better and lose.

 

It was not the type of pitch on which you can play well either,so there should be no criticism of the performance .

 

Pitch soft and sticky in patches and hard and bouncy /uneven in others,plus big slopes , so it was never a pitch on which the guys could play well anyway, so it was simply about grinding out the result and absolutely ecstatic we achieved it.

 

Have a feeling Skinner not very well as opposed to injured.
