Incidentally, whats all this on the St Albans forum about their "goal" that wasnt given despite the ball being "clearly over the line"?

I recall the incident, early in the second half I think so didn't get a good look at it... there was an appeal, but not much. Think it was when one of our defenders (Hawkins maybe?) made a clearance on the line, it ricocheted back to him and he had to hook it off the line again.

It was in fact Ricketts who made the double clearance.

I know we are comparing to keeling - but purc was c***

So crap that he managed to put a number of excellent crosses into the box, including the one that led to the award of the first penalty.

Good result in the end...Tought overall we deserved the 3 points.

Debolla scored a brlliant goal at the end to wrap it up. Good to see a fair few fleet fans there as well supporting the side to victory.

Next two games will be tough, I personally would be happy with 4 points. Hopefully, there will be a big crowd next Saturday against Dagenham.

And Weymouth! Don't forget the Weymouth!! I'd be happy with 4pts as well, or maybe we should go for the whole 6. As in attendances, I would be happy with 1500 for Daggers game, and for Weymouth, I would like to see 150-200 Fleet fans, considering its on Sky, but on a school night!!

Where were you lot??!!

De Bolla was immense throughout - tackles, power, pace.

Purcell was at another game and rightly taken off!!

Alls well that ends well but daish cant have been happy with that!!

Sorry Richard, but I disagree. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
I thought George Purcell had a good game when he came on for Jon Keeling. He was making a lot of running, and for a first game back after recovering from illness, he did well. it doesn't help him for people to come on here and slate his performance like that. He's not Jon Keeling, Keelo has far more experience, so give the lad a chance for goodness sake.
De Bolla was quieter than normal in the middle of the park, although he had a couple of good free kicks, but Slatts seemed to be back to his old self, creating some very good chances and running his socks off down the wing.

All credit must go to Ricko though, another outstanding performance, and two clearances off the line.

Here, here. Come on, let's get behind those players and not 'dis' them. They are all a great bunch of lads. Give them credit, they work as a team, and Purcell was part of it on Saturday.

George played his part especially two great corners of real quality. And as jc said, he put in the cross leading to the first penalty. I'm glad you have amended your initial comment because quite frankly although the player wasn't c*** what you said ( in my honest opinion) certainly was.

Great game, crap first half. Why did we let them back in? Score goals conceade too many. Roll on daggers, lets make it nine. Well done must go to the guy on crutches in the second half who managed to make a mervelous recovery to chear their second goal. Their goalkeeper was well worth the entry fee alone "Can you believe that?" Topic of conversation during the game was modern day players with the name George. George Weah, Hagi, Purcell (he sparked off the debate after coming on) there were more but I can't think of them. Anyone got any more?
