Seem to remember Ges Glanville also played full back in Ford and Binfield era. Not forgetting Bobby Dearlove and a bloke called Ronnie Bloom who I thought was crap.He had a brother called Garry who I believe played Occassionally as a goalkeeper. Bob Gibbs was a teacher at Slough Grammar and john Ford and Bobby Stevens were also pupils there.A former head boy at Slough Grammar, Rod Lister, I think played a couple of occasions in goal as well.

Used to watch reserves in those days, remember Tony Broadbridge, scored regularly for reserves but never made it in 1st team. As you rightly state most players were home grown in those days a team that could truly be called Slough. When Tommy Lawrence became manager he imported players, arguably past their best but still quality i.e Darcy, Connel, Day , Reid, Sleap and Wolstenhome but these were players who I would not class as Slough through and through. Unlike Terry Reardon and David Kemp(although he did come from Maidenhead Utd)

I always thought the best football I saw Slough play was the year Terry Reardon was manager and we had a side completely full of local talent, I think it was

GK

Frank Parsons - Great Keeper lived in Eton (ran a newsagents)

Full Backs

Eddie Hutchinson - Wexham boy released from Millwall

Dave Yerby - not sure how local he was but a cracking player

Center Backs

Eric Young (replaced when he left by Tony Webster)

Joe Maloney - Slough Irish

Midfield

Keith White - Burnham

Devon Petty - Wexham

Vaughan Powell - Langley

Alan Paris - Wexham

Dave Russell - Flackwell Heath ....moved into midfield as his pace went

Strikers

Gary Attrell - Borderside

Rowen Dodds - I think he lived around Staines (might be wrong)

Dylan Evans - not sure where he came from

Have I missed people ....probably ;-)

Did Jimmy Jacobs play around same time. There was another young lad who played centre half, cant remember his full name at moment but he worked at Bells Asbestos and christian name was Peter,a coloured player but pretty talented. Mickey Kiely was before these i Think, trouble is the more recent the worse my memory"
