Clearly Exeter had done their homework & seen how our 5 man midfield had seized the game fom Grays. Accordingly, they played a lot of very accurate long ball which took our midfield out & in the 1st half won virtually everything of note in the air. They were pacy & physical & I couldn't see us getting back in it at half time.

 

Which is the proof of how far we've come. Could we have changed our formation last season & seized a lost game by the scruff of the neck? Of course not.

 

Anyway, enough of what everyone else has said already, here are our goals. For a laugh, I've added what I recorded of the winner that might have been, too. Don't bother with this 3rd clip if you haven't got sound available, or if you can't bear to hear a nerd make a fool of himself.

 

 

Sodje heads home: 1-2

Disappointed at the time, as I was certain Sodje had to score, but as others have said, the hesitation was proof he thought he was offside & he probably was. In the cold light of day, winning because the men in black missed something wouldn't have done the game justice. Neither side deserved to lose.

With the Plough End open again, I'm hoping to provide you & others with the dubious pleasure of seeing yourselves in action on quite a few occasions.

 

At least you can only be seen & not heard, though. After hearing himself make a total plonker of himself on virtually all my clips, my brother swears every week to keep quiet when we score - he's never managed it.
