Lato - Again a silly question, everyone remembers your Harvey's, Reaney's, Madeley's, Bremner's, Charlton's, Hunter's, Lorimer's, Clarke's, Jones's, Giles's and Bates's and that's off the top of my head, round the Chairman's gaff half cut, another half a shandy and I'll be anybodys. Paula what you doing later!

Missed the point again there Rhodes. I didn't say no one could remember them, I said people didn't like them

Lato - Okay but why, they were the team of the century including Arsenal of the 30's, you of all people will remember the 7-0 against Southampton which was the perfect performance, '10' in Dudley Moore and Bo Derek terms.

because of the way they achieved their results...a lot of dirty tricks, winging at the referee, sly off the ball fouling. If you want to see a great performance check out the 1973 FA Cup Final and Richie Pitts early tackle on Allan Clarke. Okay it was highly illegal but it set the stall for a great display that English football enjoyed.

And in my and many other judges opinion including Brian Clough the Liverpool 5-0 win over a Nottingham Forest team in 1989 or 1990 was probably a better achievement as that Forest team were better than the Southamption side

Lato - I hold you in high esteem for your knowledge of the beautiful game and the Ritcie Pitt tackle was one of my favourite moments, as was Bob Stokoe's run to Montgommery at the end of the proceedings, but at the end of the day there is no getting away from the Leeds side of the 70's under the great Don Revie who was disgustingly treated like dirt and died a broken man.

Treated like dirt by who? By the FA who he ran out on for some money from the UAE.

And that Leeds side didn't really win an awful lot did it..not like say Liverpool under Paisley between say 1976 and 1984 or Man United under Ferguson between 1993 and 2000. Take Leeds over the same period of time say 1967-1975 and you are looking at 2 league championsships, one Fa Cup, one League Cup and two UEFA Cups...not a great haul is it for an alleged team of the century.

Potters Bar Town - Obviously I didn't see Arsenal in the 30's but I saw Leeds in the 70's on a regular basis and I repeat, the team of the Century, I'm sure you, as someone who was bred on 70's football, would agree.

Read my post again Rhodes and compare what the leeds team won in eight years compared to the Liverpool and Man United teams I mentioned then comeback and justifiably tell me they were the team of the century. A good side yes but not the greatest

As I say the Forum is all about opinions and in my opinion the Leeds 70's side was the greatest albeit not in terms of the trophies they won, in 1970 for example they should have done the treble, in 1971 they were a mile clear and Arsenal fluked the league on the back of that off side goal by West Brom against Leeds at the Hawthorns and so on, they finally got a stroke of luck when Geoff 'fingers' Barnett stood in for Bob Wilson in the 1972 Cup Final otherwise they would have probably lost that too.

"You come from the same council estate, therefore you have telepathy!"

"Don't worry that the other team scored more than you, that was the result of the week!"

"You are as good as the Brazil team of 1970!"

"You are as close knit as the great Leeds side under Don Revie!"

I think Rhodes might actually be the psychologist!
