Overall a better performance, nearly up on a last season's performance. Their goal was well taken, having caught us napping but the spirit of the team and the "never say die" attitude was certainly a bonus. Game was ruined somewhat with their falling over and moaning stratagy mugging the ref at nearly everytime they were tackled. One player even went to the leinesman after Flack scored!!! What he had to complain about I just don't know. Also, I'm amazed how many times they obstruct, pull shirts and the ref just waved play on!!! Still, no sour grapes as after we scored, Hampton certainly didn't look as if they wanted it anymore.

2 penalties for Chelmsford!!! Well that would be par for the course

Well i think anyone who was on the 'coach of death' this afternoon is just happy to be alive after today's journey! Almost ran-over not one but TWO cyclists, paid no heed to junctions, went round roundabouts several times and inevitably failed to turn round into the club car-park - pure quality. This trip surely rates as one of the most memorable! To top it all off as the coach drives off i notice the driver chatting away on his mobile (not hands-free).

Thus, still being in the hat for the fa cup is just simply a bonus!

Thought the defence was solid once again - mel was superb, macca was slightly dissappointing, but all in all no complaints about the result.

Roll on tuesday.

p.s. Brian Barwick looks like a walrus

Are you sure that wasn't Tache?

A better performance from us today, we dug in and I thought deserved another chance. Joe is looking sharp, a nice finish from him. We have conceded three from our right hand side recently and maybe that's an area we can look to tighten up. Blewitt is class.

Mel
Macca Heffer Blewitt Dorms
Game Hunter (Swaine - Blewitt to LB, Dorms to CM) Ryan Collins(Hodges)
Burbridge (Elder) Flack

snu: Poole, Worster
Kerrers was not selected.

An 'interesting' team selection (I'm sure Mr Barwick was used to seeing those from a certain ex England Manager) saw us play Dormer at left back, Collins just in front of him and Burbridge starting up front in what was our biggest game of the season.

We thoroughly deserved the draw and maybe could have just nicked it near the end. I thought Flack and Blewitt were excellent and just hope the others can raise themsleves to that level on Tuesday night.

As for the coach journey, well where do we start...probably by picking up the gear box from the road somewhere near Dunmow on the A127!

My highlight has to be the look on the face of the bloke in the car behind us as he realised we were reversing back down the hill instead of going up it on the A243 near to Oxshott. He was eating a Pasty at the time....in his panic he puffed puff pastry everywhere!

You could almost touch the relief of the players as the ball hit the net, (not a bad strike either). Could it just be that, the goal Joe scored could kick start us?? Who knows, but it certainly was a never say die performance wasn't it. Good effort lads.

As for the Polish/Slovakian coach journey, anyone who wasn't on it would never believe what (another) epic it was! I think it can be summed up by the fact we ended up in the Billericay Tennis club car park The coach journeys are well worth the laughs it gives folk.

I think they'll have top scorer Ian Hodges back from suspension tomorrow.
