Agree, very welcome and friendly place.

BUT!

How did any of you applaud that!

That was utter crap! Good thing Wilko, Alexis, Jarvis, and dell were playing! How did ani score goals at his previous club. he can't pass, and he is sooooooooo weak.(The new 'end of break'?) Before any of you say he tries...so Did Andy Deaner, but at least he had some strength!

I got told to stop moaning as we won!! Wow, the world is full of fearful clubs now. Would any of us had begrudged Cobham a draw?

That was a dreadful performance and one player had a mare, showed no interest, and looked terriffied of the ball, and his corners were awful, If he got paid for that he should donate his wages to a charity!

COME BACK WOODY!!!

Why did we wait so long to bring harris on,he'd given wallace some better support!?

Of course I am glad we won, bit of money in the bank(?), and hopefully we will do well against Farnbro...................we went down to Cobhams level, lets hope we can go up an level. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

New material? How can anyone defend that display? Once again, we were shocking and just about scraped through against a side two levels beneath us, who were clearly more up for it on the day and fought to the end, possibly deserving a draw.

If questions aren't being asked of the side, when the hell not. They came out of this tie with their heads held high, can we say the same?

Excellent hospitality as well on the day, so well done to all involved, you were a credit to your club, and good luck for the remainder of the season.

Cheers Gary, I'll pass that onto the club.

Getting back to the game, I'm sure you'll be even more pleased to hear that you were pushed all the way by a team missing 7 of their regular 1st team squad. Our No 8, who played in the centre of the park, is actually a regular centre forward and 6 of the starting 11 are between the ages of 17-21 (plus another 3 of the subs), so you're right, we did come away with our heads held high, as, at the end of the day, your experienced/paid players weren't that much better!!

Your manager was a very releived person at the full time whistle!

Jurg, we were utter rubbish. We should have been four clear after half an hour but then completely retreated into our shells and caused you very little problems for the remainder of the match.

I thought the set up there was excellent. A small but sufficient amount of covering behind both goals (although the corrugated iron was better than cardboard and netting), a nice little bar and friendly staff - one of whom didn't even mind me pointing out a spelling mistake on our team list.

Some of the players do look genuinely disinterested. Jarvis wants to win everything and Wilko is proving to be super human given that he was told to reitre two years ago and practically drags the rest of the midfield around by the scruff of the neck.

I thought Ujah had a solid debut and he looks like a very decent player.

I don't like being unnecessarily harsh to lower league clubs because I fully understand we could end up in the CCL one day, but there's no denying the fact that Cobham are one of the worst teams I've ever seen us play - that's just an unfortunate fact (alongside Dorking and Godalming & Guildford, and we thrashed both of them if I recall correctly).

The worrying thing is we struggled so much (especially after learning they were under-strength), when any other team from our level would probably have scored seven or eight. We were shocking, but sadly it's been that way since the start of the season, two games aside.

I hope Dell can shake off whatever injury(ies) he's carrying as he looks good down the right. Saturday also once again highlighted our desperate need for a targetman.

Still looking forward to Farnborough though.

The other thing I would say after reading this, is that I really wish we had a youth structure like this. It is admirable for Cobham that these boys held their own against us - if only we had our own setup or at least an attachment to youth teams so that young players from Slough can be called upon.
