MATCH THREAD: Cobham v Slough Town

As Gary says the important thing is were through, but what hard work we made of that against a poor side.

Wallace had a penalty saved and Anaclet hit the post, but despite having a lot of the ball we did not test the keeper that much. It was a game we should have won MUCH more comfortably.

I'd also love to know what the 'champions league' balls were like to play with. They seems to bounce very high and awkwardly and seemed difficult for both sides - almost fly-away balls!

Must agree that the key thing is that we are through but it was a bit of a poor showing from us, particularly in the second half. thought jarvis and ani had good games, but we really should have done better against a very poor team.

True that we made hard work of the game...but a win is a win is a win...especially important that we are still in the fa cup...and some upsets today ! Maldon 2 Staines 1 played infront of 72 spectators...what has happened to Staines,.,,,

Our crowd at Cobham reported to be 200 ....

of which 150 slough supporters...great support...

up the rebels....

Who cares about the performance..we are in the next round...

Remember Croydon Athletic should have beat us two seasons back in the first qualifying round?

Proper FA cup day out today. Farmers market before the game, stuffed vine leaves and olives during the first half, me telling the bar staff there will be at least 100 Slough fans coming and then a car turning up with an extra bootful of beer! Ground has really improved since last season and fair play to them...

Then chatted to Brighton supporters on the way home who didn't believe the FA Cup had started - well it was Cobhams 5th game!

A win is a win, I nominated Jarvo for player of th 1st quali round on 606, anyone hear it get announced? Agree with BR that croydon game we should have been stuffed, never seen so many goal line clearances in the last 5 mins and then whay,,? A few games later WALSALL! We did make an Industrail league level team look threatening though. worrying... Annie worked his socks off again and Jarvo had a stormer, Dell looked v good til he went off. But apart from that not the greatest game. But hey its the cup, rather play poorly and go through than lose...

LIKE STAINES HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ha ha, don't make me laugh. I'd be embarassed if my team of over paid players had been pushed as hard by a bunch of lads who get paid nothing. You lot were very poor, because we made you look it (how the hell does your No 7 have the nerve to pick up his wages?). Ok you won 2-1 (and good luck to you) but we had the chances, and no one could have argued if we had got a draw out of the game and taken you lot to a replay!

well said Jurgs, we pushed them hard in every department and did deserve a replay at their SHARED ground..

Great atmosphere at the ground though and good support for Slough.

Cobham need more days like this!!

New material? How can anyone defend that display? Once again, we were shocking and just about scraped through against a side two levels beneath us, who were clearly more up for it on the day and fought to the end, possibly deserving a draw.

If questions aren't being asked of the side, when the hell not. They came out of this tie with their heads held high, can we say the same?

Excellent hospitality as well on the day, so well done to all involved, you were a credit to your club, and good luck for the remainder of the season.
