Disciplinary Record

Recommended Posts

Having read the numerous postings since the start of the season, the general impression appears to be that the reason the 'Fleet' have

such a poor disciplinary record is due to poor refereeing etc. Quotes

like "played against 12 players" etc.have not been un-common. Whether the referee is good or bad, the fact of the matter is that it is the same for both sides. I have to say that the continuing gripe about poor refereeing is becoming a poor excuse for what is an appalling disciplinary record.

Yes the 'Fleet' have been desperatly unlucky in terms of injuries.

However, the reason the club finds itself in what is becoming an

increasingly desperate league position is that key players have been

suspended at key times and during important matches.

Unless something drastic is done to reduce the numbers of bookings and sendings-off going forward, it would seem highly likely that the club will have to answer to the FA at the end of the season, and are also likely to find themselves relegated back to the Ryman League.
code:

Couldn't agree more...and we should also remember that for every " undeserved " booking there have been fouls that could easily have been punished more heavily.

It's time we all stopped blaming the refereeing...we get different refs every week and we are consistently getting in trouble with all of them, it must be our fault!

Not necessarily, the bookings have dropped over the last few matches, so it may be that the players are getting a bit smarter.

Only one this match and two the match before, both of which were undeserved in my opinion, and none the match before that, so let's hope the trend continues

The majority of teams now seem to have had at least 4 sendings off this year and many have had 5 or 6.

Booking wise, other teams havent had a significantly lower number of cards, although we are still in the top 2 or 3 of the indiscipline table.

Refs are certainly "Card Happy" at times, and we are certainly not the only ones affected.
