Central defence pairing

4 good central defenders now on board then.

Hope we manage to retain them all.Bit of a Mourino problem for RT !!

I rate both CW and JD so hope they stay on board.(plus sappleton has a bit of a reputation for attracting yellow and red cards apparently-hopefully RT can ensure he keeps it cool-we need 11 on the pitch at all times

One game at a time so who plays in central defence tommorow.

Well sappletons's announcement says he is in the team for tommorow-possibly premature announcement, but think he has got to play.

Who plays alongside him.

Got to stick with 4-4-2, and as RT and PS have played together before, i think its got to be them together.

Plus whilst he has been a bit off form recently, i think we need RT's experience and on pitch leadership on the pitch tomorrow, so for me its RT and PS in central defence-at least for tommorows game .

Thats a bit harsh on JD and CW, but i would have both on the bench, and if we are up against it, in last 30 minutes, Wild could come on as an emergency centre forward-he may well get a few headers in-and if still up against it with 15 mins. left, RT could also go into attack, and JD partner PS in defence as we launch an unsophisticated but brutal aerial assault on the Fleet goal.Offers a different type of option in an emergency to Danny and Pinns

Hi MF.

So who plays in central defence in 'your team' today-Wild and JD ?

For me its Sappleton and RT (for his experience in a real pressure cooker match today ).

Not saying that PS and RT are the best long term pairing, but thats who i would have out there today.

4 good defenders on board now though

I would pair Sappleton with Wild, because Wild gives us options with headers in the box, has a bit of pace, and the physical size and presence to scare the wotsits out of the opposition.

Trotty was off his game the last match he played, so we would need to know he is fully fit. Plus it may be better if he retains the managerial overview.

A choice of three then. With Donovan as a fourth. Good options to have.Lets face it they are all here because they can all do the job.Its just that some can do it on more occasions than others. Its just a question of getting the right pairing playing which is what his thread is all about. On their day they are all capable. With whichever two goes out there today lets hope they can shore up that defence & work solidly together & not get caught out by those long balls over the top.Time for the confidence factor to kick in again & to allow our gifted midfield & strikers the confidence in turn that would come with it by showing us all their true talent up front.
