After all the wrong that has happened in this last week I can now sit up and be happy again, I apologise for the way I lost my temper the other nigth after the r'gate game it just really got to me.

Feels great to be looking foward to Margate games this year. With these two quality signings (although Jay is only temporary at the moment) I can see us challenging for the title. Gives us another old song we can bring back into action:

Thrilled with these two signings (ok Jay is only on loan) and just the pick me up we needed. Some tough games ahead over the next few weeks. Just fantastic that Trotty has managed to sign these two. Well done all round for the work to bring these quality players here. Hard game tomorrow and Fleet will be up for it. Can't wait.

Even though I'm not a "singer" personal bits like that you mention Re:Jay, are great. Are you guys or do you guys have one for EACH player.That used to be good giving each player there own little one liner like above re: Jay Jay etc,each one,one after the other,before kick-off in the warm up, & not just the odd one or two players.Nice to get responses from them separately.And to close the one liner,for each player give that - Jay Jay or whoever,"GIVE US A WAVE", just like before. Would make them ALL feel special in their own right.
You young un's are much better at thinking them up than I am.Just another thought again thats all.

[color:"blue"]Great News about the signings, guess the signing of Pat puts RT well back in the pecking (or should that be picking) order. I think that James Donovan would get relegated to the bench.

 

The big question is who makes way for Jay? Proths/Macca/Jacko/ Abbo ? - I'd actually plump for Greg Oates (though he's at his best since our Conference days, he has lost a lot of pace). discuss..

Would you therefore be putting Proths in at right back, Peter? I don't think thats a bad idea particularly against AFC Wimbledon. One game at a time though and all that but I like the sound of having Jay and Macca in midfield and providing Proths and Abbo can combine and cover each other when necessary down the right we won't lose too much of Proths passing and crossing ability.

Crawley fans have been calling for Sappleton to start saying he hasnt put a foot wrong when he's had the chance from the bench. Looks like a shrewd move.

[color:"blue"]Was actually thinking in terms of Jay as a RB or Abbo as a RB & Jay on the wing - both are versatile enough, though your idea sounds better.

I think we need Protheroe to stay in midfield.

 

Don't want too much disruption as it looks like Jay only here for a month (we need to try and change that to all season at least !!).

 

Someone will get injured/suspended so i suspect 5 midfielders into 4 positions will solve itself.

 

Must play Jay though, for his goals and bit of extra pace(i think).

 

More interesting one for me is who plays in central defence so put that question on a separate thread
