Segregation

Was Tuesdays match against grays supposed to be segregated?

If so why were they deprived of such things as a burger Van etc.

Are we not morally obliged to cater for our guests?

To be fair they could walk behind the main stand and get to the Home Catering.

 

I can only assume that as i write this I have answered my own question, that it was not a segregated match even though they had at least two to three hundred fans attend, as I also dont remeber seeing any police in attendence either.

So whats constitues having to have a segregated ground????

The game was semi-segregated. Both sets of supporters were allowed to use the same bar, same catering etc but each clubs fans had their own segregated area to watch the match.

why was we semi segregated this is even more absurd then being totally segregated, i would imagine its been brought up before why do we have segregation at all for crowds of 800-1200 fans, i've been to a number of away games in the past with bigger or similar size crowds and no segregation

I think it maybe because of the limited facilities we supply for the away end. ie. Grub n Drink.

Limited facilities have not stopped segregation before tho have they ?

No doubt the additional bar takings from away fans have something to do with the increasing prevalence of 'semi-segregated' matches.

i'll put it another way then why are we segregated on the stands sorry i'm a bit slow but i'm on the nightwork shift

I could never understand segregation at this level of Football. The only time i can remember trouble at a Fleet match, was at Dartford. We were standing at the Watling Street End when Ron Hall(anyone remember him?)was giving it large, with a crowd of us behind him. When the fight started, and Ron was getting a kicking, the crowd of us were on the 480 at Stone House, I seem to remember Roly Edwards was the first on the bus ringing the bell trying to get the bus to go!..................Oh happy days! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

There weren't trouble but if it weren't segregated, I dread to think what it would have been like.

I thought it was, because in the stand behind the goal, they had a cage separating the supporters.

If you went the other way down the left side of the pitch bahind the stand opposite the one where the players come out then you can come right round the ground and make your way in to the cage with the Shots fans.
