Definitely keep the drum, let's try and encourage some of the supporters who don't look on here but stand near to join in, and keep to the positive support (unless the referee is a merchant banker, we can all buy in to that).

We already have:

Come on Margate

Give me an MMMMMM

We love you Margate

Margate till I die

Robin Trott's blue & white (or barmy for variation) army

The blues blues blues one

The players ones

The referee one

The Margate drum drum drum one

The best team the world has ever seen one

Then there's the how wide do you want the goal one, and the don't know what you're doing one for the oppo (or ref).

And the scoring ones when we get the goals (oh please on Saturday)

And if we're doing OK we can have the we're going to win the cup one.

Surely there's enough there to get us going? Given that you can repeat the above as many times as required.

Some of these songs go back to 1966 when they were first sang against Merthy Tydfil. The next home programme said the players were lifted by it. I remember joining at a time when we were playing krap and one nil down. The players really made an effort then and we won 2-1. Which end did it all start. Yep you've guessed it the Coffin End where all the memorable singing nights occured. sadly not there now. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
