Windsor & Eton Reserves picked up their first win of the season with an impressive display away at Yeading.

After a shakey opening 20 minutes, where Yeading hit the post, Windsor took the lead through Ben Porter only for Yeading to hit back straight away.

Two minutes into the second half and Porter hit a second followed by Dan Blatchford hitting the bar.

Porter completed his hat-trick on the hour with Jack Woodcraft getting the fourth with 20 minutes to go.

Windsor:- I Gardiner, A Spellman, D Blatchford, J Tanfield (C Turner 75), T Woodcraft, D Sacha, O Maqsood, S Walsh (S Wickson 12), D Case, S Fulbrook (J Woodcraft 66), B Porter.

Following on from Mal's report, I would add that injuries and late withdrawals meant that we took a makeshift squad to Yeading. With Spenny suffering a recurrence of his calf injury after only 10 minutes, Simon Wickson made his debut, as did 17 year old John Tanfield, brother of Stuart. While the first 20 minutes were especially poor, in the second half, the midfield four of Omar, Sach, Simon, and Blatch squeezed the life out of the opposition and took control. The back four tightened up considerably, and Ben Porter was causing all sorts of problems up front. His top quality hat-trick was added to by a brilliant 20 yard chip from Jack Woody. After two heavy defeats, Gary and I were delighted with an excellent second half performance from the whole team.
All at WEFC wish lots of luck to Dan Blatchford who is off to Canterbury University this weekend. He has done fantastically well for us since he arrived at the club, and will always be welcomed back.
