....is that all you guys ever talk about is how much money you want to raise.

 

I applaud you for that, but the best revenue raiser for any club must be bums on seats.

 

So why not have a go at winning the westview cup?

 

Half the gate money was yours for the taking but you only brought a handfull of fans, whereas if the first team had been out, or like us, near to the first team, it would have attracted a bigger gate meaning you could have gone home with some more booty and maybe a better chance of being in the hat for the next round?

yeah but should you lose saturday then you will have no revenue coming in after that apart from through the gates,if you had of won last night then you would of had another few matches in the cup,there are some decent games to be had in this competition and crowds of over a thousand in the potential last 3 or 4 games,loads of money!!!

It seems a lot of Horchurch fans couldn`t be bothered to turn up either, 346 people including 40 from Canvey that`s a poor show for what has been described as a big game.

i think ronin has a fair point. could canvey have beaten hornchurch with their young side? it would be very tough. so why risk denting the confidence of the team before an important FA cup tie! especially when there are 2 meetings still to come in the league.

 

canvey killed the game for hornchurch in effect because if hornchurch won it didnt mean anything and if hornchurch drew then canvey could have a good old laugh. hornchurch could not win either way.

It is a shame this tie came so early on in our current situation!

 

I mean if we had say got through a couple of rounds and met I think there would a much larger crowd, at the moment our squad is still developing and so John rightly could not risk loosing key players for the forthcoming league campaign, particularly as we are already picking up injuries to key players like Edgar & Krayling.

 

I think injuries permitting our league matches will be a more true reflection of where we are.

 

It is a shame but given a choice of playing Metropolitan Police, Kingstonian, Horsham, Walton Casuals et al or having a chance of finishing in the top half of the league, I would hope John would choose the league!!
