By tragic coincidence, this weekend saw another footballer die on the pitch, this time the player was just 14-years-old. Here is the club statment......

 

Eastbourne Borough Football Club and Eastbourne Borough Youth Football Club regretfully announce that a young Eastbourne Borough player, Josh Briggs, collapsed on the pitch during the Under 15's fixture versus Hastings Town Youth Football Club on Sunday the 10th of September. No other player was involved. Paramedics treated the player at the ground and he was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital but failed to respond to treatment.

Club Fatality(Wingate & Finchley FC)

 

The Club is devastated to announce that our centre-forward Simon Patterson was unfortunately involved in a fatal car accident on Saturday.R.I.P

 

Meanwhile Alistair Heselton is in critical condition in hospital.

 

Best wishes to Alistair for a full recovery.
