Okay...Wallowing Doesn't Help...

Time for us supporters to get into gear and get behind these players and show them what commited means.

 

I'm gratefull that we are not like our Mid Essex friends in that we don't rip into the team indiscriminately and that our comments and criticisms are more than tempered with good humour and are balanced.

I have also heard and read a lot about that the players and the management staff had said that we're a proper supported club because of that...

 

So, lets, blow those cobwebs out, pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and get as many people down to Hampton to support and get behind the team. This season is far from over, we have the F A Cup game, Trophy game and the Essex Senior Cup to play for as well as promotion.

 

Lets show the club, team and our rivals what a great support we have at Billericay Town FC, 'cos this is where we come in and count for a lot.

I'm relatively new to New Lodge, but couldn't agree more. It is a fantastic club and generally the fans support the team through thick and thin (except for the Carshalton game- understandably!).

I notice that there was a 'kids free' day at the end of last season and 650ish people attended. Would it be worth upping the publicity/special offers to try to improve attendences and therefore atmosphere? Surely this could set off an upward spiral of improved results, increased media interest and higher gates (and receipts).

I really want to see Billericay pushing on over the next couple of seasons. Leaving Chemsford behind has got to be a good first goal.

I'm a teacher not a businessman so am probably spouting rubbish, but at least I'm thinking positively!

Exactly why is "leaving Chelmsford behind" a priority andyrich? Just when I was beginning to think that the CCFC/Ricay messageboard banter had mellowed consequent to both our indifferent starts to the season.

Personally, I would like to see us BOTH pushing over the next couple of seasons so that Conference South rivalry is the order of the day.

Human nature to compare yourelf to your neighbours BC. Specially when they've got a bigger house! (you'd know all about that <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> do you ever bump into HRH? Down the betting shop? That sort of thing?) I think some good natured local rivalry is a good thing; adds a bit of "spice".

Andy, we are constantly working on attracting new fans, and over the past 2/3 years the general trend has been on the up.

It's quite easy to increase the gate for a single game, but the trick is to keep them coming back. So for the long term we have to be patient and build slowly. A few loyal supporters here a few more there and in time the gates grow.

 

Keep spreading the word Andy, it all helps.

I wish!!!! - anyway, I've just moved away from the Balmoral area to a small town some 40 miles away, so no chance of meeting up with "Her Madge" now. Will keep my handle the same though - Oldmeldrum Claret just doesn't have the same ring to it.
