A blistering return to our usual league cup form... last year was just a dream

Kept giving the ball away and paid the price. No complaints about the result, we didn't do enough to get something from the game.

Capleton

McSweeney Heffer Swaine Dormer

Game Hunter Ryan Hodges

Elder Poole

Subs

Burbridge for Elder

Kerrigan for Dormer

Flack for Poole

Couple of decent first half chances, particularly one that Poole saw saved when 1 on 1. Fell behind to a pacey attack on our right that was finished at the far post. 2nd half new signing Rikki Burbridge came on and showed some nice touches, one good effort that was saved late on.

I fear a season of nothingness, as we drift into the dark abyss of Ryman Premier mediocrity. I feel the life drifting from my very veins.................

Turn your back on the darkness and walk towards the light...

Repeat after me "score Nathan!, score Nathan!, score Nathan!..."

If we think it, it will happen.

As Bizzarre as it may sound ... can we afford to drop nathan...

and maybe just play flack up front alone...

5 across the middle ... hodges, Hunter, Wozza, Dormer, Collins

(gameo on the bench as an impact player)

giving us nothing to aim at in the air we'll play much better football, have more support in the middle, more width to get the ball wide and if you put in the superb quality of hodges and collins you can have runners in from the midfield to get there head on it and bury it!

whats wrong with that?

Last night, we didn't even deliver a quality ball into the box in the second half...

Yep, no complaints about the result. East Thurrock worked well and took their chance. We had 2/3 imo excellent oppotunities but couldn't take them.

So what's the betting we go and spank Hampton on Saturday ?!?! Wishful thinking?

A similar story to the Ramsgate game, the most disappointing feature of which is (imo) that we were outplayed by both teams in the second half as some of our players seemed to lose heart.

So far this season we have failed to beat Borehamwood, Folkestone, Carshalton, Ramsgate and East Thurrock. This is plainly not good enough if we are to have any play-off aspirations although we all have to remember it's still very early days.

We're not conceding many, that is a positive. We are creating a few chances, we will take them eventually.

Hopefully the team will step upto the plate on Saturday, give it everything for 90 minutes and prove to everyone that we are better than a "mediocre" Ryman team.
