Maybe somebody with access to advance copies had gained or purchased one legit but then realised that a few miles up the road in a certain Bedfordshirian town another match was taking place that clashed and as he wouldn't be attending the match at the mighty saints decided to sell his copy!

You must be really dim if you think it was me. Why would I waste my time selling one on ebay when I could quite as easy take a whole box and sell them outside the ground. Easy money, hang on a minute. . . . .

I've got a load here if you want one Laz. Usually £3.75 on ebay but £5.00 seeing as it's you. All monies go straight into my pocket of course.

Nice little earner this programme selling lark.

I'm one of those rare people who buy one at the game, thanks!

Has the picture changed since yesterday? When I looked at this thread yesterday afternoon the picture was the same one (of the Cambridge programme) as it is now. I guess the quality of the content is now so improved that these things are increasingly sought after. Perhaps if one or two of the contributors offered to autograph one or more copy then they would become even more valuable!

Good thinking Midweeksaint.

I could sign one for each home game and keep track of who buys it, where it travels and so on. If the one that I signed comes up on e-bay, we'll have our man! If it doesn't work on Saturday, I'll sign another for the Gravesend match and we'll repeat the process.

Wait. That wont work. 24 games per season, say 30 with cups and pre-season friendlies. What's the print run? 600 or so? It could take 20 years or more, by which time this chap will have retired on his ill-gotten gains. I could sign two and try to watch them. You could do two, and Laz could do a couple. That should reduce the potential time to err, err ... 10 years or so. That's no good either.

Serial numbers. Those nice chaps at the printers ought to do it without additional cost in the pursuit of justice.

Better still! I'll bid for the next one that comes up on e-bay. A tenner should cover it. I'll tell the chap that I'll pay cash and collect the thing from his home in order to save on postage. Bingo! We'll catch him/her red-handed. I wonder who it is. Vickie Baxter with a bit of luck.

Thanks for that 'wench'.

I hadn't noticed for one very good reason. It wasn't there yesterday.

Now here's a funny thing. I know that because I have a memory like an elephant. In addition, the description on the page is indicated as 'revised', and if one clicks on that, one can see that the description was revised at 9.30 this morning.

The eagle-eyed will also spot the the location was revised at 11.40 this morning and 'Pak Street' has been changed to 'Park Street'.

No need for an inquisition, indeed.

This person has sold a number of items on e-bay and I'm sure that the Supporters Club will be pleased to receive the unexpected windfall of all the profits generated. No doubt they will issue a short note of thanks to the person concerned. Jolly good chap.

All's well that ends well.
