Ruislip Manor 3 St Margaretsbury 2

Defensively (Enfield Town game apart) we've been ropey this season but we always look a threat going forward. This game summed that up as we went 2-0 up in 10 minutes (second courtesy of a blatant handball)then Smugs dominated for 20 minutes but couldn't score. We then have last 15 of first half and should have added more but let them get a goal back with last kick of half.

Second half they bunged long balls into the box as they sussed we were jittery and we held on, had on obvious penalty turned down then got a dubious one which we scored to make it 3-1. They got a goal straight back with a another poor goal from our point of view but we just about held on.

Still 7 points out of 12, two wins in the F.A Cup and a striker with 9 goals so its not all bad.

Typical Mags side really. quite physical and up for the challenge. Lot of long throws and crosses into the box which they charge in on. Slow at the back (okay I don't know how strong a side they had out) and suceptable to pace.

Having not been at the game a will not comment on it. Only comment I will make is with 2 games in 3 days (why on earth do Ruislip play "midweek games" on a Monday night) inevitably we picked up knocks and injuries Saturday that weakened the side. From what you say though it sounds like you deserved the win so fair play to you.

Tubbsy

Its amazing how many teams have been weakened when they've just lost a game.

However, to be fair the main reason you lost last night was due to a thoroughly inept refereeing performance.

As to why Mondays, its been Monday nights for many years so should be no suprise to teams, but often is to our benefit. It also brings in bigger gates as there are rarely any other fixtures on a Monday, so you can pick up an extra 10-12 ground hoppers to boost the gate plus people who would normally watch Hillingdon, Brook House, Harefield and Northwood.

LOL well our captain and main striker were both out so I would say weakened. I have now heard about the ref. Sounds like a shocker. Like the Murphys, i'm, not bitter! Monday nights are no surprise to us but still seems an odd night for midweek games! I was also told that you forward is like doggies do off of a shiny shovel! maybe that's why we were slow! :-)

Yes our manager is always that excitable during games..he's still very new to the role, this is his first managerial job.
